My husband and I just completed a 6 day water fast. It was extremely difficult compared to a 9 day water fast we did a few years ago. I would do it again because it brings amazing results. Dr Fung, I fast everyday 16/8 and rotate 18/6. My fasting window completed with a long one hour walk, 4 miles, every single day. I break my fast with chicken broth home made, eggs and plain greek yogurt. When I eat, I really eat as per your recommendation and no snacking on bars and powder. I opted high quality foods and lean protein. I started this regime the past 4 months. Every day I check your videos to learn more new things to improve my life and I don't want to miss any of your messages Thank you so much Dr Fung. You are helping the community and the world providing such important information to change people life, including myself. I am 69 and I am healthier than at 40. God bless you 💖

Big decision is do I break or continue on later today. Hunger is completely gone, water with electrolytes (keto chow) and black coffee only. Keto breath has me brushing my teeth every couple hours.

Thanks Dr Fung for this information. I have used LCHF and different forms of fasting since 2013. The goal was to get rid of my diabetes type 2. That succeded in less than a year. However I noticed a very noticeable mental clearity after fasting. Since a few years I have been fasting 48 to 72 hours before important meetings. That has been very beneficial for me. I am now 68 years young and has a mental clearity like a young man. Also I am very nice after fasting. No missunderstandings and no conflicts with my opponents.

Years agp the University of Virginia announced discovery of the lymphatic system - the most voluminous fluid system - swathes every cell in the brain case. Fasting for autophagy will locate, sequester, and enzymatically dis-assemble placquing in the brain and neurons. For example, while doing a longer dryfast I noticed the body was doing a cleansing effect on the cerebellum (spatial orientation).

2 years ago, at 68 i fasted for 7 days. My thinking was clear during the entire fast. I'll try to measure any changes during a 3 day fast. I was unaware of these potential mind benefits. I live alone and manage my health without doctors by walking an average of 35 miles a week and eating within a 5 hours window each day. It's difficult for me to say if i can recommend my regimen to others. I seem to be sensing the effects of aging.

I felt great the entire 21 days; was not tired at all. Now, at 66 yrs; I chose carnivore diet, for medical reasons; finally understanding the issues; regarding spiking insulin. 3 months been on carnivore so far, & I feel even better than I did on the 21 day fast. Plus, I am on zero meds & my hashimotos 8.11 tsh went down to 2.99 normal levels; 7 weeks after I started ... we are never too old to get well .... "Let food be thy medicine" ..

It's impossible to never notice the effects of aging. Just do what you can to counter for them. Back when younger, we could abuse our bodies endlessly and get away with it, including by eating anything we darn well pleased. As we get older we quickly start to pay a price in fat, inflammation, sore joints, and arthritis, as well as slumping posture, slow healing, lessened quickness and coordination, etc. Best thing to do about it is to not deny it, but simply up the level of our game when it comes to taking care of ourselves.

I lost 40#since May. Stuck now with no loss. But haven't gained a single ounce despite the holidays. This week fasting every other day with my feeding day being only beef/seafood/chicken/eggs. Trying to start the loss again. I'm never going back to where I was. I've never changed my life like I have with IF and the results prove it. I'd have never been able to be in holiday time and NOT gain weight. ❤️❤️❤️ I owe it to IF

Intermittent fasting is great I know its NOT for everyone and not needed but I loved the benifits of it and how it worked out for me. I have been doing IF since FEB and even workout while fasted. I did a few vlogs on my channel to give updates on my results. Dr. Fung's video was one of the ones that got me into fasting. I only fast a few times a week now since I am back training in the gym when I do heavy compound lifts I prefer to have a preworkout meal I notice my lifts are a lot better if I do. But yea its all about finding what works for you.
