Do you teach absolute value inequalities with rational. for example |x-2|/|x+9| > 2 ??

its easy sir. using law of inequality |a|/|b|, then, |(x-2)/(x+9)|>2. solve for x same way you do solve (x+1)>2 so to know the basic approach is always the key because most time basic ideas are been used to compute advance math.

I usually love the way professor Leonard teaches, but here I think the explanation is unnecessarily a bit overcomplicated. But I'm sure by now professor has a way better way of explaining this. Anyway, if you're getting confused by this whole sign flipping thing, here's my point of view on it. What an absolute value basically says is the number inside me is this many units away from 0, so |4|=4 means that the number 4 is four units away from 0. Continuing with that logic, |-4|=4 means that the number negative 4 is also four units away from the point of origin. Soo, if you have say |x|=4, it's basically asking what numbers are 4 units away from 0? Yeah, 4 and neg 4. But if you have something like |x|

Exactly what i thought, that flipping thing may not be intuitive for some students, this is a far better way.

can we use 'or' sign insted of 'and' sign.

well i think it depends on the inequality sign you're having, meaning that if the absolute value is greater than a number then you use or and if the absolute value is less than a number then you use and . i hope that makes sense cause that's how i understand it

at 2:13 Professor Leonard says that 3.999999999 repeating forever is less than 4 but it has been proven in multiple ways that 3.99999999999999 repeating forever is actually equal to 4. Surprised he made this blunder, unless I'm missing something
