Interior Designer Creates a Calm and Colourful Family Home with a Dream Outdoor Garden (House Tour)
Ойын-сауық
Celebrating colour and materiality, Boronia House is the contemporary reimagination of a pre-existing dwelling. With interior design by Esoteriko, the family home captures an uplifting and lively environment.
Located in the harbourside suburb of Bellevue Hill, Boronia House is surrounded by expansive properties interspersed by leafy sections of green. Mirroring the height of the neighbouring houses, the family home is comfortably settled within its immediate built context.
In the kitchen, walnut panelling clads the cabinetry, complementing the dark limestone flooring of the original dwelling. An impressive double-height void frames the kitchen island bench from above, presenting the piece as the dramatic focal point of the family home. Guiding residents up through the void is a set of floating concrete stairs.
Throughout Boronia House, Esoteriko forges a strong relationship between the home and the natural vistas beyond. On the ground floor, outdoor joinery bridges the conceptual gap between family home and garden. An external seating area increases engagement with the landscape, alongside a new staircase and elevated swimming pool.
Embracing a natural connection alongside colour, Esoteriko develops the liveability of a family home. Boronia House enhances everyday life, prompting residents to adopt a more relaxed and explorative means of occupying space.

I love the use of concrete and wood and the pops of pink color throughout the home. The use of pink adds a certain whimsy and lightness to the home. Very beautiful.
How do you guys pump out these videos so quickly, and yet, they have such great cinematic quality.

Probably quality is more important to them than quantity.
Loving to see wood textures coming back into kitchens. The walnut here against the textured Portuguese tile looks fabulous. The home is described as "colorful," but it's still restrained. Hope we see more of both of these trends.

Everything that comes back often gives peace and completeness, here wood textures according to you. Some combinations match perfectly. It is still restrained. perhaps due to the color predominance of the less bright colors.
Nice. Not so easy to combine high end design with livability. I especially love the whimsical hanging lights. PS - not 100% sure, but she may have gotten through this entire video without saying “materiality” even once 😎

Great interior
Eso perro!!!
It’s curious how colour has a very cultural and personal perception, for my taste the interior of the house lacks colour to make it playful or even vibrant, but like I said its very plausible that the client’s idea of colour differs to mine. Still it’s a gorgeous house, Well done!

I can definitely see how this is more colourful than many of the trends we've seen in interior design, recently. #PaintItWhite was (and still is) going pretty hard haha

where has this channel been all my life
Nice
personally, love the interior but not so much the exterior. The custom metal work as she says, is beautiful to me. love the staircase railings

Exterior was existing, this was just an interior reno. I wonder if they deliberately left the exterior almost 'as is' in order to avoid having to get authority approval.

Why don't you like the exterior so much?
That red desk was very striking too, any more images of it or who crafted it?

Don't know the name of that particular piece or who made it, but I would say if you look up the work of Mark Rothko, you can see where the inspiration has come from?

I don't know 🤔 a lot of risky choices for a young family a designer is also obligated to think first of function whilst the stairs are beautiful one wrong move with a child running or carrying a child with a forgotten toy on the staircase 👁🙆🏾♀️ RISKY to use concrete first of all and the opening 😬 As someone else said colour is to taste so maybe this was as far as the client was willing to go? 🤷🏾♀️ also I always question white in a family home that looked like a very expensive sofa 👁 and the walls cry out for sticky fingers 😅 good luck to them? If I had just watched with no sound I would have said couple who liked to entertain. Not even the outdoors said child friendly. Anyway my 2 cents 🤪 🙂 😌 And hope that they enjoy it.

Calm and Colourful Family Home... ONLY FOR THE RICH. Stop dreaming poor people of the world.
@nownalolo2999

When is someone rich, according to you?
For a house owned by a young family, not a single sign of a child is seen.
The color choice and interior arrangement make this house a lifeless-vibe. And her eyes are so creepy
There are heaps of much better harbour view homes to showcase
@enzoenzo7895

I agree, but the description and the title just really fits from what have the video have shown. If that’s the designer’s intention then she would definitely meet the requirements and goals in this home IMO.

This family has small children? This house looks like a series of trips to the emergency room. The bed between the shelving reminds me of a Murphy bed setup which cheapens the look of the bedroom. And all those stairs just to get inside especially if you've had a long day or even an intense leg day at the gym. No thanks.

How is this more of a tripping hazard than any other house? Also, it looks like the lot is on a slope so the front of the house is lower than the back, so they wouldn't have any choice but to put the living areas on the second floor.
where's the "dream outdoor garden" all I see is shrubs
@derosa1989
Жыл бұрын
In the UK and Australia, the term "garden" often just the name given to the outdoor space that adjoins the house, not a dedicated area for plants and vegetables.
Properties are almost touching each other. no privacy ... and carpets wall to wall in the bedrooms so british and nin sense
Young children live in that house?! Do they live in football helmets and body armor to protect against all the hard surfaces and sharp corners? I’m guessing the designer doesn’t have kids.
