Am I the only one who loved that there was so much white? It looks so much more spacey and minimal

No, you are not alone, I love white in the home. As you say it makes the home so light, airy & very stylish & it is easy to add pops of colour.

I LOVE all the white; spacious, clean, elegant; makes for a larger look, and totally livable as well. Beautiful.
Wow - I am so surprised at all the negative comments. What a lot of work, and what a clean, well-designed space. I never liked pink as a little girl, and made my brother take it when ever possible, but oh well! What a nice, calm space for a busy family. It looks like it's easy to keep clean, gives everyone their own space, and is really well set up for family life. Great job! I'd go for a little more color but I appreciate the zen-ness of this.
Commenting in 2021 -- I was honestly shocked at how long ago this design was posted. I sincerely thought she'd taken the 2021 Pantone colours of the year to heart and was prepared to see comments about 'trendiness' below, only to find that she was actually ahead of the curve. Pretty cool. I will say that I have some reservations about young children having bedrooms on a different floor than the parents, but I've known a lot of families who've made it work in the GTA/Oakville/Hamilton corridor as narrow townhouses took hold in recent years, so good enough. Very nice. :-)
Simple. Open. Light. Good job
hmm i need to redefine the word 'small'

Anyway, this is much more realistic size of the house, than most of the US and Canadian interior design youtube videos. And I like It, because anybody can use this idea even in the small apartment. I have a house in the centre of a city in the middle of Europe..150m2 m, plus 50m2 garden...and It is quite luxury for our counry...to be honest, I don't need more space for our family of 4 plus dog and cat. Who wants to pay for heating, elekricity, cleaning...

Looking at the layout of the interior. It looks like it's the same size as premium one bedroom apartment in North America. The difference is the fact that unlike apartments, they are able to get 2 story. And then the minimalist one tone color make it look bigger. They also have the backyard that made it look bigger.

Wow this house is sooo gorgeous!! I love clean minimal design and color scheme!!
All these years later, it still stands the test of time! Beautiful
what is up with all the snotty comments? its a nice house. most parents can only dream of giving their children such a beautiful home to live in. guess all the commenters live in perfect homes. :-/
she's a great decorator. Love her taste in everything.
I am jealous with these people. They got a skill that I really like to learn. It's always facinating to see how people make these beautiful places 😃
I love the simplicity in décor...the brightness, the clean lines and the pop of colours throughout. Less, really is more.
It's a lovely home. I especially like the Owl designs. ❤️🦉
I love this room! I like that it doesn't look masculine or feminine, it just looks like a nice place that anyone could get comfortable in. Cool colors can be cozy and inviting when used in the right way and minimal doesn't have to mean cold or boring. Thumbs up for this beautiful home that disproves a lot of old decorating myths. This is my favorite home from this channel so far!
The house is a gem 💎... seems like a 1bdrm up,2bdrm down space. My take away even though the house is small (for Vancouver) the furnishings were regular size and not too much stuff. Decorate for the space you have! Low ceilings= low furniture ...allowing the flow (openness) from the front of the house to the back 👍🏽. The kids I guess have their own little apartment downstairs!! Cool..
this is such a stunning transformation I can't even believe this is the same space!
It all goes to people's taste and life style . She did a great job
For a family of 5 this is a fairly small home, all the same i could deal with it if i got to live in it. Such a good looking house, very themed, I love it.
I love it, how they call something big small-space.
I appreciate the fact that you put a lot of effort into your home. And I love the fact that it's not cluttered and it is neat, clean and tidy. But grey, white with yellow accents throughout the entire home leaves one feeling sterile and lifeless without any energy. Perhaps using dark flooring would help. I'm happy it works so well for you and your family. Perhaps one room of it would work for me, but not the entire house. Thank you for sharing.
People are so whiny. I'm pretty sure this is not how the house looks like on a daily basis... It's probably messy and there is stuff everywhere but they cleaned up and made it look flawless for the cameras. And if any of you tell me that you'd never do that you lie! I love this house. Classy, clean and modern.

We have a young daughter so it’s hard to keep everything cleaned up but once she grow up you can teach her a simple rule: « When you take something, always replace it when you found it after you finished using it ». It works ! And it’s a game changer ! Of course having only one child may be the reason why she is more disciplined and we’re worried to make a second ! lol
It's beautiful!! For all those complaining about the colors or items etc, this is her idea and preferences! Some people personally love it. You guys can just move on on what you like and don't like because it's kind of pointless to complain when it's not your space..

Wrong. The commentary section is for people to respectfully voice their opinion- just like is done for dance, music, etc. Your comment is completely out of touch.

@@Person-mh6xq Wow, this was 5 years ago. You’re not wrong but I have meant to direct my comment towards people who were not really “respectfully” commenting back then. Constructive criticisms or opinions are fine but being a little rude and negative is discouraging and unnecessary, therefore, I commented it that way. I mean, it’s your free will and space to speak but being negative with complaints is just not productive or practical.
Love it! especially lightning, openness, freshness of colors and simplicity :)
Your cozy home is just lovely! Very minimalist but it stands out so well and every area of your home has a very welcoming ambience.
I love how simple yet very homey this house is. Very well planned. I like it.
Beautiful. How I wish I have a house on my own
Oh my god i love the decoration is just so fantastic, and when i see the before and the after of the house, its like wow, really smart lol.
Fantastic job. Small space. Clean lines. No clutter. Perfection
Lovely. Practical. Clean. Keeping it colour coordinated & simple really worked. Well done!
Beautiful. Thank you. I love your daughter's pink bedroom.

"Small space" is a relative term.

This person's idea of "small" is my idea of a "mini mansion" compared to the miniscule places I've lived in! I guess they never lived in a 200 sq. ft apartment before.

@@SkyeID If you look at the images of the old house, you can see just how small the space used to be. This is called a small space "renovation" therefore you can renovate it to maximize space.
LITERALLY IS A FANTASTIC PERFECT HOME THAT IS DECORATED PERFECTLY....THE WHITE AND GREY IS FABULOUS AND THE HOME OVERALL WOULD BE INSANELY PERFECT FOR MYSELF
I LOVE this house!!! I particularly love the yellow bike art in the boys' room, and the entire little girls room is awesome!
One word: BEAUTIFUL
I love the colour scheme with the grey and white running throughout the home. It's so calming and minimalist for a family home. I'm gonna copy that!
WOOOWWWWWW this is EXACTLY the aesthetic I've been looking for!!!!! Hopefully I can find an interior designer that can do that for me 😍
I think this is a GREAT space for kids, lets their imaginations do the work. Uncluttered lifestyle is best for growing minds.
The family room is lovely and I love how you made the windows bigger. It is a very open and airy home. I’m trying to decide what to pain our walls as we have a small townhouse. The white on your walls looked lovely and clean, giving the illusion of space. I might go that way too!
Absolutely gorgeous, this house!! Love the minimalist style.
It's great that the dog photo- bombs the video :) A house is not a home without a fur- baby.
absolutely stunning home,a real credit to the home owners
Excellent job on this house....... a lot of designers that add too many colors and patterns to houses can learn a thing or two from this simply elegant but fun house. I love the grey and white theme throughout the house. I don't have a bad thing to say about this house. But, then again, I'm not surprised because those Canadians have great decoration tastes. Especially, that GOD of decorations the Canadian Candice Olsen. My respect to Canada from New York City.
Transformation of home after renovation is amazing. Really impressed how you changed the whole outlook of #home . Nice work.
House & Home should create a playlist that shows all the videos they have on masculine decoration and design.
Being in Hawaii, this is so far my favorite because the house maximized the small space by utilizing the outdoors.

love your house! clean white & airy!
Beautiful colour combination 👍
I love the lack of clutter & the minimalistic approach. The gray & white, however, reminds me of the gloomy fact that it rains a lot in Vancouver so let's.bring the cloudy skies indoors as well. While some shades of gray are fun to work with, I get the feel of a bland, cloudy day indoors as well. The use of space is great and if she & her family are happy, that's all that matters. Great design overall!
I love all the natural resources coming in.
I'm kind of glad it was. Since I rent and have white walls it gives an idea of how you can still make it look good. The white makes it look very bright but the family room did have a gray wall.
I love the yellow door so nice next too that pretty light gray color and the glass table and the kitchen was so pretty and they deck God I love everything in this house

I like the balcony of the house, it has a nice view and it is wonderful when you have combined it with the table and the sofa, which is a great relaxing place.
I think it's a beautiful home. I love how it looks very open !
So Beautiful!!! I loved the Balcony & Dinning table so much🤗
Love it! Modern homes are beautiful and lively... Great job
Very minimalist and spacious home..the deck is awesome!!
Beautifully done. I love color, but I also love white spaces too.
I love the style of this house. I want a similarly designed flat for myself.
A very lovely home :)

I agree with you. It's very nice, clean, modern and open. Yes pops of color here and there. But to me it's very cold. Like she said Vancouver being a rainy city, why not a little bit more of warmer feel... Carpet in the living room? More plants? :)

Wow, that's really amazing! What I really like was the deck area and how you used it plus that door that folds away for a full opening.
Playing with color helps not only the design but the total functionality of the house. Toned colors gives the whole house a more spacious feel and brings a more relaxing ambiance to the room.
Wow! I so love love the renovation you did with the house!
The dog! He is enjoying the furniture the most

Great Job and you can tell is livable, modern and well thought
Perfect for my future house, exactly what I need it.
Beautiful, I love the clean look, great taste.
Your home is amazing! Totally love it!
Te dining room light doesn,t sit easy with me,but I love everything else, it looks like a very livable home, and has a happy bright feel to it.Well done!
She’s since redone the entire house looks AMAZING! I living room is now the master and dining room is a bed room and the kitchen flipped to an add on floor up top.
love the Concept the white and grey is clinical look ..and I like minimal ... love interior design .x
I love this home and the concept. I am inspired. Love it!
Very Nice. The flow is incredible! Would live there in a minute. Bigger is not always better.
wow, such a great transformation!
Your home is so beautiful.☺
I love the ideas. I would have opted for aqua colors being from the tropics instead of greys, though. Altogether, everything was still beautiful!
i personally don't like grey and white rooms but the way they styled it made it great with the pop of color in several rooms ! the grey and white makes the entire house feel brighter with the light wood flooring too :)
wow.....so far this is one of the beautiful and best house i ever scene...so nice and simple...
love the house!! great job!
I love this house! It also gave me some ideas on how I can design our future home :) So nice! I love her girl's room too! So cute!
Love the video b/c my son & daughter-in-law may be purchasing small house, I was looking for ways to make the most of their small space and shared this with her. Thanks.
I absolutely LOVE it!!!
Just one word beautiful
Reminds me of the house in beetle-juice after the remodel. So cold looking. PP mentioned it doesn't look like a place for kids and i agree. They might cut themselves on all those sharp corners ;) I get the design idea, it's very space conscious and tidy and the entire home follows the same concept, but it simply isn't one I'd like to live in.
I love the idea of containing all the kid stuff downstairs.
Too much gray and white. I like the "modern style" and the fact that neutral colors give a sense of light to the spaces, but when you use the too much, like in this case, the house becomes "sterile".
No matter what material you use, if there are seams you have to cover them or take them inside for rain. And if you cover them, there's still the problem of water collecting or just dampness underneath. Earwigs love that!
