Awesome video as always! My favorite fact was the KGB request to brick up the "laird’s lug” in the wall of the Great Hall in Edinburgh Castle before Gorbachev's visit in 1984. Maybe a fun fact next time about Bonnie Prince Charlie's court in Holyrood Palace because he could not capture Edinburgh Castle? I'd also love to see some videos about filming locations in Scotland like the village of Plockton that was used for the Hamish Macbeth series.

Hi! Edith.Your videos are fascinating and engaging. That's because, your Scottish accent is the USP.As far as a fun fact about Edinburgh goes,I'd like to bet on "EDINBURGH FRINGE FESTIVAL".It's mainly because, the world's biggest performing art show is held every year from the last week of !August to the last week of September.World's greatest artists gather in this beautiful city from around the world to perform and show their extra-ordinary talent. This festival is the USP of the overall attractions of Edinburgh Regards

A friend who used to live in Edinburgh told me a fun fact about the Central belt yesterday. I had thought that because Livingston is much nearer Edinburgh than it is to Glasgow it would be mainly people who have moved out from Edinburgh who live there. Not true, Livvie is mainly East End Glasgow. He then told me about his inlaw's auntie who lives in Livvie and has a huge Rangers flag which completely fills one wall in her living room. And then told me what she says about the other half of Glasgow. I won't repeat that bit as I don't want to be misunderstood and make myself forever unwelcome on this channel!

Hi Erin, have you heard about the "Curse of Oak Island" off of Nova Scotia (was supposed to be colonized by Scots and meant "New Scotland"). With at least three families tied to Scotland. The tv series is about treasure hunters and tie in with Knight Templar" etc. and the ten year modern search. The initial search started in the middle 1700's. Thought you might be interested.

Oh, that’s interesting about the Volcanoes and, WOW, I LOVE to Eavesdrop…Ahh! Scrooge McDuck from Walt Disney’s “Ducktales”! By-The-Way: I Subscribed to your Channel, so I’m not from that other percentage…It’s so neat that you know so much about Scotland-related stuff…I’m guessing that being from Scotland probably contributes to your knowledge quite a bit…Question: When Scots call a place the “Lochs,” what do they mean? What are the “Lochs Of Scotland”? I’m American and have never been to Scotland, so I had no idea there were so many interesting places to visit, nor did I ever know what a “Loch” is…Other Question: Is Edinburgh anywhere near Glasgow? I’ve just watched this Video and my friend says she and her friends have enjoyed the Video, too…Interestingly, my friend & her friends (who are 100% deaf and are also unable to Lipread people) have no idea whatsoever as to whether you have a Scottish accent or not (because they don’t have the ability to hear, as in at all, and don’t even know what your voice sounds like, let alone whether or not you have an accent), but they say you’re one of the few “Hearing” Content Creators they enjoy watching and that your Auto-Captions seem quite accurate, because they don’t often get lost/confused whilst “Reading” (Watching) your Videos; however, if you make a face because you heard a noise as you were filming the Video, they are deaf so they can’t hear whatever sound distracted you and wonder what the pause was about…They mention that on some Channels the Auto-Captions are awful, but they’re assuming that your Videos likely have great Audio Quality, because your Auto-Captions seem quite accurate…I’ve always felt that accents or not, regardless, we’re all Human Beings…But one unfortunate setback for my friend and her friends is that they can rarely ever watch Videos the very instant they go Live (or, also, as they’re “Premiering”), because they need to wait for the Closed-Captioning to go up, or else they would have no way of figuring out what the person(s) in the Video is/are saying…They also can’t ever participate in LiveStream Videos AS they’re in-progress and instead need to wait for the LiveStream to eventually get Uploaded as a regular Video and hope that it then gains a Closed-Captioning option…All that said, I often watch Videos before my friend has a chance to, so my friend frequently reminds me to not disclose things to them, so they can have a chance to “Read” (Watch) the Video… . My friend & I enjoy watching your Videos and we’re both wondering whether you’re planning on having another Q&A Video soon and, if so, where you’re gonna allow people to ask you Questions (such as Instagram or Twitter)…I’m on the [Autism] Spectrum…As I’ve mentioned above, a very interesting fun fact about my friend is that she will likely never have an opportunity to hear the sound of your voice or learn what your voice sounds like, and is completely unaware of your accent…You see, she’s 100% deaf and is also completely unable to Lipread (as not all deaf people can read lips) at ALL and she requires an ASL (American Sign Language) Interpreter to communicate with me (or, otherwise, we communicate via back-and-forth E-Mails & Text Messages)…My friend’s being 100% deaf but also 100% unable to Lipread causes her to be 100% dependent on CC/Subtitles to figure out what “Hearing” people say in their Videos…She thinks it’s neat how she can enjoy people’s Videos so much, even though she’ll likely never have an opportunity to hear the sound of any of their voices or learn what their voices sounds like, and a running gag is that whenever she’s watched Videos (or is watching them), she says she “Read” them (or is “Reading” them)…She often has a chuckle whenever people in Videos comment on various “Strange Noises” they hear and often has a hearty laugh whenever a person in a Video apologizes for an “Echo” in their Video, for she doesn’t even know what an echo (or even your voice) sounds like, so all the echoing in the world certainly doesn’t bother her…Whenever my friend & I watch Videos together, I ignore the CC/Subtitles as she’s meanwhile fully-dependent on them and she hands me the Remote so I can set the Volume level to wherever I want it so I can hear what people are saying in their Videos…I can hear you perfectly and could answer that nagging Question that my friends have, but they’d love to know the answer from you as to whether you have a Scottish accent…My Thought On Accents: Although accents are neat, I usually just try to get to know the person too and focus on what they’re saying, rather than their accent… . For Your Upcoming Q&A Video, My Friend Has A Question To Ask You…My friend (who’s 100% deaf) has observed that you’re based out of Scotland and, that said, she’s very curious as to whether you might have a Scottish accent and wishes for you to, to the best of your knowledge, describe to her what your voice sounds like (i.e. is it a Deeper Voice, a Mid-Range Voice, or a High-Pitched Voice and is it a Calm Voice or is it an Energetic Voice), and is also curious as to whether you know any Sign Language; although I’m able to hear you perfectly, she’d still love the answer to come from you directly…She’s asking because she’s unable to hear your voice for herself…When answering my friend’s Question in the Video, please avoid speaking too quickly, so to be certain that the Answer you provide in your Video will form as accurately as possible in the Auto-Captions…And please don’t take too personally this request for you to not speak too rapidly when answering my friend’s Question, as I ask ALL people this whenever including my friend’s Questions in a Q&A Video…The KZread Auto-Captions do an excellent job on the Irish & Scottish accents, but the new Auto-Captions for Instagram are quite lousy at it, so most Scotland-based Content Creators I know of use the Auto-Captions for their KZread Channels but write out their own CC/Subtitles for their Instagram Videos…That said, my friend mentions that she’s enjoyed “Reading” your latest IGTV Video and also your Instagram Clip Videos too… . Meanwhile, MY Question For Your Upcoming Q&A Video Is: What got you interested in making Videos and what led to you starting your KZread Channel and how long ago did you start your KZread Channel? AND this might be an awkward Question…BUT…Being from Scotland and all, do you like or (do you dislike) Shrek? . I’m Autistic and many people in the Autism Community believe there’s a higher occurrence of Depression & Anxiety amongst Autistic persons (versus people who are not on the Spectrum)…My friend says she sometimes suffers “Deaf Anxiety” which is basically fears of awkward situations resulting from random people who don’t even know her (nor realize she’s deaf) approaching her in public and trying to speak to her, and she meanwhile has no idea what they’re trying to say to her, because she can neither hear them nor Lipread…Usually, if a person tries speaking to her, she often motions with both her hands to stop speaking and then she points to her right ear with her right index finger, indicating that she’s deaf and has no idea what the person is saying to her…Lots of deaf people also fear people gossiping about them while they meanwhile don’t know what the people are saying (due to being unable to hear what’s being said)…She also fears going out alone after dark, because if bad people tried to sneak up from behind her, she wouldn’t be able to hear them approaching…My Anxiety often results from being misinterpreted as a bad person, usually because of my lack of knowledge of Manners & Etiquette…This whole “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” mentality takes hold and then I become too cautious to wish to exert all that extra energy to ask once again for those various things I failed to ask for tactfully in the past…
