I don't believe that Meta ever intended to be a hardware company but continued developing headsets to drive the app store, so the apps would likely be where their profit focus is.

This is valves approach, and it definitely works. It's a good incentive if the profit is in software sales, as it means the hardware needs to be really good for it to be successful

If she charges some amount from the sales of games/applications, other VR/MR headsets from other manufacturers that have the meta OS, then I think it's good, but I'm sure she only did this because Google declared that she wanted to disrupt the market. VR/MR for not using Android XR (which is tremendous hypocrisy since Meta practically owns 50% or more of the VR headsets on the market and Google wanted to limit what Meta does on the system).

Need a meta quest with 4K HDR OLED Panels, that’s all I need

Amazing content bro. Little constructive advice. Try to keep eye contact with the viewer as you look away a lot it seems like your looking at your other monitor for the information your sharing as you turn your head and look away from the camera at the end of all sentences. One other thing that would make it more professional at the start try to edit out the part where you start the video and we see you turn around obviously to press a key on your KB. Just minor things but adds to the viewing experience for the viewers. ❤❤❤❤

One of the first also enjoyed. I love what you do, and your the first person I come to when looking for any kind of VR News

It would be very interesting if it had an integrated Alexa or something similar, another thing is that they improve the detection of passthrough things using AI that hasn't even been demonstrated.

AI has been in the headsets since the first Quest and maybe even earlier on the Rift.

@@TeamJackassTV In Oculus Quest 1 and 2 are you talking about hand tracking? that I don't recall any other feature that has or could have used AI.

My assumption is that they're adding support to create VR apps using React Native. The framework was made by Facebook so it makes the most sense to me.

What Meta is doing is amazing, and it's the same thing that Android OS did years ago. Meta takes and unites all the VR and AR manufacturing companies under the cover of its own operating system, and the result is a big VR and AR world where different headset manufacturers have an order. @@D3ADLOLO Unfortunately no, it doesn't use a Sim card. It connects to the web, via WIFI. It would be awesome if it did take a Sim.

Think it's worth waiting for Asus/Lenovo headsets? Kinda interested to try

They definitely sound interesting to me. It's always worth waiting to see multiple reviews from different people to be able to build up an opinion. However, we also aren't exactly sure when they will be coming 🙁

I can see it. But I’m worried about competition.

PC isn't moving as fast as XR, and that's because XR is becoming ALOT more useful for many cases.

Because 3500$ is a poor goal if you want market penetration.

We need to be able to have more then 20 walls. its so annoying. for my apartment I would need to have like 40. I have 3 room apartment with kitchen if would be fine if every room only had 4 walls. But many rooms have more then 4. exempel. in my bedroom I have a wardrobes in 3 of the corners. So I would need to use up 10 walls just to use this room....

I see this as a bad omen, perhaps a sign that Meta is preparing to completely change operating systems without letting the other completely die. I think the current OS, if you can call it that, because it currently doesn't support all keyboard layouts, especially AZERTY or other keyboard types. It's not really multitasking either. Perhaps Meta has decided to throw in the towel with current VR and will focus solely on smart glasses. I think the current store is thin, not much new content, apart from small games but nothing extraordinary. It seems that with the AI announcements, Meta has decided to be interested in something other than a child's toy.

Whats next? Trusting Facebook to show you how to do medical procedures? Talk to a pro not Llama.

What I reckon is. Even spend 4grand or whatever it’ll be here in Australia if we have the Apple Vision Pro when ya can get 4 of the meta quests 512 models for the price of just one Vision Pro lol. They need to get realistic and drop the prices. It was the same when the Apple Watch first came out. They were wanting way to much but as soon as they dropped the price they got allot more sales

The Vision Pro is a developer device. All the bells and whistles possible. If you think this is the only AR/VR device you will see from Apple, you are mistaken. They are taking note of the feedback and the next release will be more in tune to what consumers want.

I make all intros shorter than 30 seconds, give you chapters so you can watch only the parts you're interested in without watching the full thing and add detailed descriptions so you can read instead of watching. On top of that it's free for you. Tbh, at this point complaining is actually funny 😂

I love my Apple Vision Pro. I can’t wait for more stuff to be available for it and maybe Apple get off there thumbs and allow you to use OS X apps and not just iPad and iPhone apps on it. It would take over the market.

It has been almost 3 months since February 2, 2024, when the Apple Vision Pro was released. I still don't understand when the interface update for Quest 3 will be released. It feels like there are only 3 employees working in the Meta department for VR glasses. I understand that this channel only covers VR news, but I'm already sick of this situation

something useful would be desktopifier for vr games, ie, inverse of the unreal vr-ifier. de-vr for alexa and boneworks, same controllers. yes I'm sick of vr. literally q2 makes me puke after 30mins.
