Maybe it was a typo. Just a thought... 🤷🏻‍♂️ I've recently read where they're considering removing the howitzer from the newest AC-130 Gunship Platform...

Muzzel velocity of 1,000 feet per second is what a weak 9mm does. Im sure it shoots a lot faster than that. A quick google check shows that it shoots 25mm rounds at over 1,300 METERS per second. Thats

I still say the hand loading could be overhauled with a preloaded rack that plugs into the side of the aircraft . That way a loader vehicle could buzz out and remove the old rack a plug in the new one in a few minutes and that would cut down all the extra time involved with hand loading . I say hand loading is outdated but it still works . :O)

I know a few peoples houses i have a score to settle with that this could handle. A lil puff the magic dragon love i call it

If an AC130 is flying in a combat zone, we have complete air superiority.

Why do the flight crew not wear parachutes? With the loss of several AC 130's over the years wouldn't giving crews the option of bailing out make sense.

They have parachutes on standby but for them to constantly wear them would just weigh them down in the already tight and confined work space they already contend with

You absolutely correct, until all remaining ammo stockpiles of 105mm. Has been sufficient expended, The upcoming or I may say suspended 120mm put on hold. Which I highly doubt it will be released due to our politician ever changing world,

WWI, and WWII. We won every battle in Korea and Vietnam but lost the war to politicians. We won every engagement in Afghnistan but lost due to politicians. We certainly won operation desert Storm, care to argue with that? Then politicians messed it up post war.

I have friends and relatives. That all served multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan And said that they owe their lives to the specter. Gunship, crews for their accuracy. And on more than one occasion. Their convoys would have been wiped out if they didn't have the close air support of the specter gun ship, so it can't be as ineffective in combat as you say. Unless all my relatives and friends have been lying all these years. 😏
