That 03 boat yelling starboard and telling cam boat to come up had no rights as no overlap existed

You are correct on this statement, but he did achieve overlap right as he was about to collide with us. So my ruling would be that he could have protested us for not tacking at that time. Which we did not do because it would have forced us into potential contact with the committee boat/finishing mark. Thanks for thw comment

I love it. The guy on port tack yelling “starboard”! The desperate try anything to cause you to make a mistake. All’s fair in love and war.

@celticspike7 the rules are different now, one may 'hunt' i.e. use the rules as a weapon not just for safe navigation. Do i agree with the comments above that it's fine to lie and do wrong whenever you can on the racecourse? No, i think the essence of yachting has been lost and, as we usually do, Americans have taken a classy thing and managed to win a lot by cheapening it. Regardless, it is that way now, and outside of the circle 'proper course' is somewhere in a trash can with giving up your seat for a lady.

I have been known to yell stbd. when on port just to shake up the competition for a minute. Sometimes I get a break and gain the extra couple of yards.
