In the second part of our lesson, we continue to look at word problems that deal with integer operations. These applied problems again focus on addition, subtraction, and multiplication of integers.

You can also use Something called LCO you leave the first value the same and you change the second symbol to the opposite and put the opposite sign for the last number

Of course, thanks.
question: for the second question wouldn't it be positive 1,320 because 220 is bigger than -6 so wouldn't it be positive??

You are confusing the rules for addition of integers with the rules for multiplication of integers. When we multiply integers, if the signs are the same, the product is positive. If the signs are different, the product is negative. In this case, we have a positive times a negative (different signs), so our product is negative. You can check this out on a calculator for yourself. Try two positive numbers, two negative numbers and a positive and a negative.
