I had a left insular cortex stroke over 2 years ago. My personality & emotional health was affected in ways that aren't visible usually, So people don't understand. There is so little info about strokes in this area of the brain.

@@WalkInto.TheSky Yes. I'm ok. I do have some residuals, but I was very lucky. Most of it is emotional & I get tired easily. I stutter & forget words after 8 hrs work. Still choke occasionally & eat mostly soft foods. Have some issues with depth perception. When I get tired, I get frustrated & cry. But no paralysis or things like that. What effects do you have?

Hi Sam! I was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. I got a MRI done and my neurologist said I have something called “Left Insular Cortex Irregular Sickening” She didn’t tell me anything else about it. Do you possibly know anything about this? Like exactly what it is, how/why my insular cortex is “sick”, why it causes me to have seizures, and how having my insular cortex being sick affects me differently than someone with a normal insular cortex? (Minus having seizures of course. I already know that haha) If so, I was wondering if there was an email I could reach you at to talk more about it?

Very nice presentation but I have one confusion… you showed the transverse sections to represent MRI images but in MRI the transverse images are as if seen from below…not from above.

Quick question, I just had a stroke and it was in the insular cortex. I am noticing this weird depression I am having and an exacerbation of my PTSD symptoms, it seems to make sense according to what you were just talking about, do you think exhaustion could be a part of this? Just looking for answers that my counselor doesn't have and my doctor doesn't seem to have time to answer
