    I'm an 87 years old male and have a solid wood desk 6 foot high and 5 foot wide and 2 foot deep and weights about a million tons. But I can lift it by myself to slip a slider under the bottom by using a length 1 x 3 hardwood about 2 foot long and a short piece of wood about 3 inches long and 1 and a half inches thick. All you do is slip the end of the 1x3 under the edge of the item you wish to lift and lift the other end of the1x3 up and place the short length of wood under the 1x3 close to the piece of furniture you want to lift and push down with your hand or foot and up comes the piece of furniture high enough to slip the slider under the leg.

    I have sliders. So basically I just need to lift one end of that 3-400 pound cabinet with one hand. I’m 73 female. Easy peasy! 😂🤣

    1:03 I've lived alone most of my life and have had to move heavy furniture by myself many times. I just recently purchased furniture sliders and wanted to see if one person can use them without help, which you, thankfully, showed. The way I moved heavy furniture in the past was a little bit at a time. You can't do this using only your arms. You have to use your whole upper body strength to do this: 1. Stand on one side of the furniture. 2. Move that side of the furniture away from the wall as far as you can (it's usually only a half inch or so initially). 3. Switch sides. 4. Move the other side of the furniture away from the wall as far as you can. 5. Switch sides. 6. Repeat above steps. You can move the furniture more than 1/2 inch after initially getting it away from the wall. 7. As you are moving the furniture, start turning it towards the direction you need it to go. 8. If you're having difficulty sliding the furniture on your floor, you may need to slightly lift up one corner of the furniture (using your entire upper body for strength) then slide the furniture while that corner is lifted. When I say "lift up", it usually only has to be raised by a millimeter or so. I've moved heavy oak dressers; a heavy wooden loft bed; bookcases; and more using that method. It's a slow process, but it works. I even have weak knees and can still use this method. I purchased the sliders in order to move things faster. Lol

    Move it one side at a time. Push one side away from the wall using your entire upper body strength (not just your arms). Go to the other side. Move it away from the wall as far as you can. And repeat until you can get the sliders under your bed frame.

    There are sliders with felt cover instead of plastic.

  • @Susan70003

    @Susan70003

    @@jennifergayman3575 yes. Felt. The plastic ones if they get any grit or single particle of sand under them they will dig in and scratch hard surfaces. I had even vacuumed before using but a missed tiny piece of something marred the floor. I assume felt would be more protection but haven't bought them yet.

    Holy molly! With his build, he couldn't move w/o those sliders?? He looks like he could lift that sucker with one arm, toss it around his waist like a hulu hoop, and throw it down the stairs!! GOOD NIGHT!!! My being 76 and weaker than a child..in trying to move my Lowrey ROYALE organ from bedroom to the LR: As I push and press against the organ, like a squealy little puppy, I'd likely spontaneously explode, cracking and shattering like a CHAMPAGNE glass onto the concrete!!😬BUT..I think Harbor Freight has these sliders. Using a lever I can likely shove the sliders under the cabinet...and watch what happens. Gads!! Maybe I'm strong enough that a sudden push would set the organ into motion...RIGHT THRU the bedroom wall. OMG!!
