    Hi Dr Chung, this is the best video on post op recovery with the best advice. I simply wish I could have this knowledge a few years ago. A lot of things I have found were through research and from a patient group on social media. This is extremely important valuable information for anyone to know before surgery and must be followed. Hi Doc, I had surgery yesterday and so far it hasn’t been bad. He gave me Hydrocodone for pain but no ointment or cream. The bleeding has checked up and only a small amount of discharge and discomfort. I’m staying off my butt as much as i can because I’m handicapped. Which is probably how I got the tail 🐈in the first place. I never have constipation. But no bile movement yet. I took Miralax so prayerfully I’ll see something soon. Hi Dr Chung! I had surgery on December 9th. I had 75 units of Botox’s at the 12 o’clock position to aid a 1cm chronic fissure. I also had 3 large skin tags removed. I’m now on day 5 and have had minimal pain since the op (a 3/10 on the pain scale, it’s mainly just uncomfortable). From day one I woke up with a grape sized swelling which looks like a haemorrhoid but feels more like fluid. This swelling is not getting smaller (I’m having sitz baths, ice packs, witch hazel and naproxen/ ibuprofen). Should I be concerned? Or is there anything else I could be doing? Or is this normal and I just need to wait. Any advice would be a big help, as I still can’t get through to my surgeon.

  • @neenD

    @neenD

    Жыл бұрын

    Much better. I’m 1 month since surgery. It was only at week 2 did the grape size swelling start to go down. It’s now a small flesh-like skin tag, roughly pea sized. I will ask if this can be removed if I am advised to go back in for a second dose of Botox. The thing that has helped me the most is 1 sachet of Movicol every other day. My BMs are now daily and not every few days (slow digestion and chronic constipation caused my issues) and I now for the first time in years am able to go without bleeding and without pain! Would 100% recommend Botox and am certain removing the tags (which would swell up post BM) has aided healing of the fissure. The pain was no where near what I expected, in fact for the 1st few days I was convinced the local anaesthetic hadn’t worn off! Hope this helps anyone considering this surgery! (Note - I did not have a haemorrhoidectomy just Botox and large sentinel piles/tags removed)

    Hey Dr. Chung I have a question. I know you’ll tell me to see a professional but I am . So a month ago I wasn’t drinking much water, eating healthy, and I drank a ton of coffee. Then I used the bathroom one day and I had a painful bowel movement. But I didn’t think much of it, after it occurred my butt felt sore. Then the next few days after that I was super constipated. I couldn’t use the bathroom for 2-3 days and I couldn’t even walk because my butt hurt. Then I found a great laxative I used that gave me relief because it allowed me to have a bowel movement after feeling constipated. Now a month later I’m still feeling pain in my butt and whenever I use the bathroom my stool is soft but I still feel like whenever I have a bowel movement or have to pass gas releasing feels stuck it’s odd. And sometimes I feel like there’s sharp pain in my butt and I feel something moving . It’s a weird sensation to describe. Also inside there seems to be a small pimple but it doesn’t feel like a hemmroid . It feels like a small rubber ball. What do you think is going on?

    After having a fissure and fissurectomy, which I’m still going through recovery, my stomach is still a little messed up because for three weeks I wasn’t able to really pass gas normally or at all, and my bowel movements were messed up along with the schedule. I started having more fiber, but that made me incredibly bloated and I had cramps and gas that I couldn’t get rid of, the pressure from the inside was pushing on my fissure making the pain unbearable. Once I got the fissure removed, I was able to pass gas and feel less bloated. I don’t really care about having 25 to 35 g of fiber as long as I have about 20 and some low residue foods with a stool softener. I’ve been taking stool softeners around the clock because I hadn’t gone for four days, but but I finally went thank goodness for the softeners a quarter cup of prune juice helped. Please if anyone has any questions ask me I don’t want anyone to be alone.

    How are things going for you now? I'm on day 12, post fistulotomy. Unfortunately followup isn't until 10/18. I'm still getting that pus/mucus leakage daily, though it's decreasing. Wearing what are essentially maxi-pads for men. Doing 3 sitz baths a day. Did a largely liquid and soft food diet for about 10 days. Started slowly working in my normal foods into diet over the weekend. My pain hasn't been terrible outside of days 3-4 post op and obvious pain during bms. I'm just ready for the leakage to stop. That and wearing the pads makes me not want to leave the house.

    @@shaficiabdrhmn2198I’m doing great now no pain at all but it was a rough journey after the surgery, i would say it took 1 month for me to start getting better, best I can tell you is use hot tup and sit there when in pain, I also had a pad filled with hot water to sit on when I’m in pain, most painkillers didnt do much for me, try to keep a soft stool as well it will still be painful but better than hard ones, all the best

    I avoid sitting down directly. Don't sit on one of those donuts, that is for sure.

    I wish I could have speak with the surgeon… I couldn’t talk even the nurse without been charge for a whole visit, nobody checked on me,He said Percocet was all i need ,the stupid pain was always at the highest level the entire time, until I said this medicine is not doing anything. I am still in pain.
