    Totally loving this series. Never tried the Ponziani-Steinitz Gambit before and after some analysis, I don't think I will. White shouldn't take the knight, but play Bxf7+, which seems to present all sorts of problems for black.

    I really don't get the commenters' fixation on video length. For every person who asks for shorter videos, there is another who asks for longer; and neither considers that creators have schedules and lives, too. IMO Nelson, just do whatever length works best for you. At the end of the day, you have SO many great videos, anyone can just pause or keep watching as they please. Thanks for the fantastic content!

    At any point from 10:19, have you considered sacrificing the rook on g3? The h-pawn has to take and the passed pawn seems to be very strong. It seems to work already if the light-squared bishop was on the long diagonal.

  • @alexanderscheiber
    @alexanderscheiber10 ай бұрын

    After inducing g3 another approach would have been taking the pawn with the idea of Rook takes g3 due to the f pawn being pinned by the bishop followed by pushing the h pawn and putting the bishop on the diagonal

    Yeah, those blunders and misses are costly for sure! But even here, where the opponent played that inaccuracy, which doesn’t look bad. However, it turned into a bad move. Dang, I guess I have a lot to learn than just not making blunders and missing tactics, gotta not have bad inaccuracies either 😬

    You had a beautiful mating net if you played bxc4 instead of bg4 at the end there, then sacrificing the rook with rxg3 to force mate in 2/3 with h2+, bd5# if he takes the rook or bd5# if he doesn’t. Even if he sees it and moves the rook the king is in a mating net as bxc4 blocks the escape square and you can promote your h pawn to mate him that way instead
