Installing Zone Valves Soldering And Wiring
Ғылым және технология
I am installing new zone valves onto this boiler. First I have tben cut and solder the zone valves. Next I need to wire the zone valves. I need a 24 power and common wire. The power these wires provide drive open the zone valve motor. Finally the end switch needs to be wired. The end switch is a dry set of contacts. When the zone valve opens, end switch closes completing the electric circuit. Once this circuit closes the boiler turns on.

HVAC seems like such an interesting field. I watch videos from the hacker and other HVAC guys and it’s interesting to see how all take different approaches to the same results. Troubleshooting is very similar to the it field that I work in. In how people take different approaches to end with the same result. I don’t know HVAC but I learn from these videos.

All that matters is the outcome. School teaches a lot yet experience is gained from trial and error. It’s a trade that after 21 years I am still learning something new often.

@@thehvachacker completely agree. At one of my previous companies I worked with a trainer said I could only teach you 30% of what you’ll need for the job but the other 70% is up to you to learn. And hey man, I learn plenty from you too. Just in process of troubleshooting in general. How to triage and think smart and not hard. Good stuff man! Appreciate your videos!
Steve Lav says those lead free fittings are a bitch to solder. It’s good to see a plumber using solder. The finished work looks so much better.

I am considering starting another channel to help people learn HVAC. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lnepr7mPeJOWqco.html the first video is how to solder a lead free ball valve.
Good install Hackster ...
What skills you have Great Hacker !
You really need a bigger tip on that torch. I know you dont like using a lot of heat, but that tip sucks for 3/4" joints. I only use it for 1/2".

It’s small yet can heat up 3/4, 1” yet at that point I will use my 11 tip. I lost my 7 tip or would use that instead of the 3
Nice job hacker, but curious as to why you had one pro press and the others solder joints? Thanks for the video.

Propress valve came with house. I fled up the propress when I remade the manifold. That’s why top of propress is smothered in solder. I like soldering over propress.
omg the wiring.
were you have the valve feed line or return
Nice job, what was the kind of valves you used?

These are Taco sentry valves I like how they look and how the light lets me know if stat is calling and when valve is open. Figure if I like these valves, I will stock on my truck.

It doesn't make sense for me to make a video and not explain which cable goes with which, how am I going to learn how to install it if it doesn't explain the process?
