One thing to add would be how to trim the rubber strip that you removed - DEFINITELY add the 1" as the rubber will compress lengthwise to ensure a tight fit. Similarly the end rubbers strips (oustide of the towers) will need to be trimmed to accomodate the end caps. The Yakima manual is atrocious. :D

Towards the end of the video when the jetstream was attached to one tower, it isn’t exactly clear how to do the other side. Do you slide the bar all the way across to the other already in place tower? Or do you just extend the bar out beyond where it will end up on the driver side so you can slide it onto the tower on the passenger side and then keep sliding until it is centered? I’m guessing you have to have the tower attached to the landing pad before attaching it to the jetstream bar. Everything else in the video was great and very helpful. I couldn’t find info that the bars packaging also contains the parts to mount it to the tower so it was good to see that in the video. Also helpful to see how the pads hold the tower and how to put the tower together with the bars.

Hey thanks for the awesome video! Totally agree with going with a camper shell. Keeps everything locked up and out of the elements. I just picked up a used camper shell for my Tacoma and wanted to do the same thing. Add a rack system for a RTT. The only concern was of the shell cracking under the added weight. Have you guys looked into the Milford loadmax system? Looks like it will take the weight off the shell and distribute it on to the bed. Anyways thanks for the detailed video definitely will rewatch it once I start adding the rack system.

No the tracks work on any shell. I would limit the weight on your roof unless you have a reinforcement for extra weight.

Looks great. Looking to do the same with my Tacoma camper shell. Did you guys have to cut down the Tracks at all? I have a short bed taco, snugtop camper, and when I measure the length of the upper part of the shell it's barely at 54" before it starts to curve down in the front and back. I would likely have to either bend the track or cut it a bit shorter to get it to fit on the straight/flat part of the camper shell. Any thoughts?

I have the Yakima Sky Rise HD in Medium. It’s not a very heavy next. The bars are much stronger than the camper shell. I ended up switching the fiberglass camper shell out for a stainless steel RLD Designs Canopy. Way batter and stronger.
