Installing wings on The Ercoupe (Speed though)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video is going to be my dad and his friends helping us install the wings on the Ercoupe. It took about 8~ hours, I cut and sped up the video. I hope once I get the Ercoupe going I can slow it down and film more enjoyable videos.

Theirs is a gap strap that screws to the wing. We had to paint them thats why they didn't get put on in the video.

That gap in the wing...is it there in flight or do you seal it somehow?

Also mine has the ailerons on it do they have to be removed for the removal and install?

So the ailerons do not need to be removed. You will need to remove the wing to fuselage cover, than disconnect the ailerons push/pull rod has one bolt. Also disconnect Pitot/static hoes, wires for nav and strobes ( I had to remove the rear floor board to gain access to the strobe connector) I don’t remember the socket size you need. I can find out when I go to the hanger this weekend. But a good socket set some extensions, pliers to remove cotter pins, and screw drives to remove the cover. And something or some one to help hold the wing when removing. Good luck on Ercoupe

@@pilotray Thanks this helps me a lot to know what I need ahead of time any idea on bolt nut size?

  • @pilotray

@@g6rcteam81 On our coups the main bolt was a 15/16in with a 1in nut. Than the rear bolts were 1/2 and nuts. I forgot your going to need a punch to get the main bolts out, if they are stuck.
