Among the vintage aircraft anniversaries celebrated at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2021 was the 80th (plus one) anniversary of the classic, easily distinguishable, twin-tailed Ercoupe. Twenty-eight Ercoupes made the trip to Oshkosh from all over the country, many of them arriving together on the Sunday morning prior to convention after departing from Wausau, Wisconsin, following the Ercoupe Owners Club’s National Ercoupe Convention. Fantastic gathering for enthusiast's and owner's of a very rare light aircraft... only saw one of them as a kid in 1969 @ "Red Bird" Airport in, Dallas Texas.
Leader to ATC- "Flight of 28" inbound. Whaaat? I wonder what the largest single type arrival is at Osh has been?

I think they had 78 Ercoupe's for the 75th anniversary at AirVenture.
The " safest plane " with one of the worst accident records!
