Cleaning the air in your home (indoor air quality) is just as important as maintaining temperature/humidity. Most homes are built extremely tight, not allowing enough fresh air in. In this video, I’m installing an Ultravation whole house air purifier (UV Photomax), UV light (EZ-light 6P), Orion Ion Generator, and two 5” MERV 11 filters. When opening a duct system or making any changes, its very important to make sure you seal the ducts properly. Shurtape offers a wide range of tapes, making it easy on you to get the job done right.

I've been inside attics you could put a couch in and live comfortably. Rich people man
*humiditer We liked it **Fastly.Cool** so much in the basement, we bought a second one for the main level. The amount of moisture it pulls out of the air is astonishing.*
I've been a commercial refrigeration service tech for over 30 years and I can say that your craftsmanship and pride in what you do is very obvious.
Nice to see you finally have a helper, that one man stuff is way too much work!!! 👍
From the standpoint of a 33 year old woman who honestly really has no business being here, I feel like this was time well spent. Your clean and responsible attention to detail just kinda hit the right spot. I've also got a place to start as far as product research goes for the sake of much needed better air quality, so thank you.
Very clean work Zack. You take pride in your work and it really shows.
On every Video you say this one: Lets do some work. This with that energie you put in it had taken me good through last Week. I repeated this like a pray. 73h week. Merry Christmas from Germany.
My original intention for this humidifier was to use it for plants that require high moisture levels. After using it in my room, kzread.infoUgkxtD9aJ2m6GU-X1IChQxjn9l31K1A7Kpwj however, I think that's where it is going to stay in the fall and winter season at least. The increased humidity in my room made the room warmer and more comfortable. I had first ran the humidifier for 4 hours with the timer setting for it. After the first hour, I checked my room and can feel the difference. When the full 4 hours was up, I checked again and noticed that the humidifier was shut off as it is suppose to. The moisture level never seem to get passed 56/57%. I then let it run until all the water is used up, which it wasn't all used up. There are still some left in the base that you are not suppose to add water to. I filled up the water tank all the way again, being careful when removing it from the base. Some left over water may spill out. After putting it back on and setting the unit to auto, I let it operate. It didn't stop running, rather I don't know if it did at any point since I didn't check it regularly, for 24 hours after which the water in the tank ran out. The moisture reading never passed 56/57%, which may be a good thing for me. Being situated right next to my bed, the noise was not very noticeable with the occasional water gurgle from time to time as the unit ran.
Excellent job! It's evident you take pride in your work and you're good at what you do. Keep it up!
You always motivate me to do the best job I can and to keep learning the trade. Thanks from Florida!

Nice job and taking pride in your craftsmanship.rare these days.been doing sheet metal/installation for 31 years.i hate to see all the flex instead of proper duct.i do realize some people can’t afford the added cost but the flex just gets to me.keep up the good work

I don't know if that's your partner or your helper, but it's amazing you've allowed someone on your team. Your methods and quality of work should be an industry standard. Hope to have a guy like you in the future to show me the ropes because I refuse to work for a shady individual who takes shortcuts or tries to take advantage of people. From what Ive seen in your videos you seem to be pretty legit. Good stuff brother!
I subbed on the first five words could tell he’s got a great channel and a great teacher right from the bat
I agree with the comment as the cleanest unit I have seen. I really like your tape display and I will go get all the tapes at home depot in the morning to redo some places I notice for my attic HVAC unit. I was hoping you were installing air oasis whole house purifier. But really like your instructional video and I am really glad you took the time to share your invaluable knowledge for DIYers like myself. Take care of yourself and if time permits, keep it coming. RE Morgan, Decatur, GA July 10, 2012
Retired hvac tech here, in my opinion one should start in the trade as a duct work installer for a year or two and then a system installer for a year or two and then a hvac tech. So much more knowledge gained.

They dont have duct work in Tn. Its all flex. So much competition up here as well. It drives the market down so nobody goes with metal ducts anymore unless you can get in a good neighborhood where people care about quality. Zach seems to have some good customers

Need advice they found mold in hvac and one vent. It’s not that bad, they cleaned the vent and hvac. They added a uv light I think rema system supposedly hydrogen peroxide will release into the vent or something like that. Is this enough to kill off the rest of the mold? Supposedly with humidity at 40% and with the rema and regular cleaning they said it will be ok. I can’t afford to rip out the ductwork and replace it with new ones
I have 2 iWaves in my system its been really good so far.
Great attention to detail and pride in your work. Wish you serviced my area.
Thank you for the great content, and thanks for the trutech promo, saved me some doe.
After I cut the inner liner insulation I spray it with aerosol spray tack, so the fiberglass doesn't become airborne as much.
God dang my dude. So impressive. Clean work, knowledgeable AND manage to have the time to edit it into a badass video. Most people dont understand how tough that is. Keep the bangers comin! #bluecollar #dirtyhandscleanmoney
Great job. I definitely enjoy watching each one of your appearances. I'm wondering that few individuals' thumbs are down...losers You are the best dude around. LV U MAN...what a serviceman. perfect, awesome, and few in your talent..May our LORD keep you safe and healthy.

Great job on the returns. That’s something that does not happen enough in the field good air filtration four or 5 inch filters.I do mostly commercial and I am not up to date on air quality products. No idea what’s good. You did a great job on this especially those filters. There’s a lot of furnaces that should have that once you start getting over 4 tons.
Quality work bro !
Beautiful work as always my friend. Not gonna lie, mad jealous of that sweet workspace in the attic. Why can’t we always build em like that?!!
Great craftsmanship

Great job and video like always
Need real mastic too man. It gets all over but wayyy better than tape. Especially for an energy efficient system
I should take pictures of the attic I’m working in, would love to see this type of slow taping and sealing, blown in is your friend
That by-pass might blow dust back into the house when filter or duct is dirty....especially if using a pre-filter inside.... I tried that way years ago and had to go back and change it. However it does look much better duct-wise that way.

I normaly by pass the by pass!!
@jwaflergmailcom
3 жыл бұрын
The by pass is for making sure the duct work isn’t over pressurized due to the zone system installed. If only one zone is calling for conditioned air the ventilation system could be over pressured or cause high noise from the supply vents. I asked the same question my self and that’s how it was explained to me!
@TedCookHVAC
3 жыл бұрын
@@Keo0oo The bypass will relieve the blower when a damper closes and "chokes down" the system below it's required airflow specification.... I am not at all a fan of the so called "zoning" done with systems that are not designed to operate in a variable capacity application. But the bypass does at least "trick" the blower and lower some noise and static pressure issues. However, it does nothing for the amount of btu's that have to all try to fit in the reduced duct capacity when a damper is closed, so the supply air is measured by a DATS sensor and the compressor is cycled to death killing longevity as well as efficiency. On a gas system it will of course cycle the burner to death at pretty much the same costs. I am a big fan of zoning, but not this way. 20 S.E.E.R. Trane with communicating zoning components is the way to go IMO.
Dam clean job love the detail
Thanks for the video
I like your content and how clean your work is! Question, after installing all the pieces of equipment into the vent lines did you do a static pressure test? Maybe you did a static before and after and can public what this upgrade did to the air flow. Thanks
I love how clean you work, but the way you tie on ducts is way different than how we do it in Texas. Mastic the collar, put on liner, panduit strap it, slide on insulation and foil, panduit strap it and then tape to clean it up. Its sealed and will never come off.

season greetings to you great job 👌👍from st Lucia
nice job sir....im also technician in philippines my gratitude to advise to you sir ...
Great video and a very professional demonstration! It's too bad that 80% of these installs would be done in an overhead attic, where there's hardly any space to move around in. lol Attics that have minimal floors installed so you have to watch your step on the joists or you wind up going through the ceiling into the owner bedroom etc. Attics that has active animal presence and feces plus who knows what else.
liked your tip about the tape. "be a friend.leave an end"
Very clean work, much respect! I was wondering why not put the filter cabinet right on the bottom of the machine and connect the return and bypass. That way you only have 1 filter to worry about. Just a question. Your work is spotless. Mad respect. Its hard to stop a Trane 💪🏼
Good job with that bypass damper. How it was the way before would probably be sending a good bit of liquid refrigerant back to the compressor.
Thank you for fixing that bypass, I was like it's a lovely system until i saw that absolute sinful ductwork. I'll sleep better knowing that was fixed as best as was reasonable to do.
I know next to nothing of what I just saw, but I know an OCD-level worker when I see one!! Excellent work my friend!!
i need to move company to nashville these attics are amazing
I'm in school for hvac right now, I hope one day I'm half the tech this guy is. Great video.

Advice. UV lights are near useless in a furnace or air handler. It takes minutes to hours to kill mold, bacteria, or virus`. Yet it passes through the UV light in a second or less. Be a good hvac tech and tell homeowner to invest in HEPA furnace filters. Thats what hospitals use for patients with TB. Its just basically a 2x3 fan with a medical grade HEPA filter on it. UV is useless on hvac.
You are the GOAT!
Very nice work
The Picasso of HVAC installs👍
Good job fella
I work with u like a helper no problem sir
Dang, these guys still know how to work - solid
Great job 👍
Ahhhh its nice to see professionals do a job well.
That’s some serious indoor air quality
You are a BEAST man. Such attention to detail, even the little metal plugs for the pressure test. Beautiful work, and merry Christmas!
great video
I love your work brother! When it's time to change the 5" filter in a year or half what's the plan?
I love mastic tape, but it doesn't fare well down here in FL if it's not making direct contact with metal. Any other surface and it melts off from the heat. Spray glue, silver tape, squeegee, and mastic until something else comes out.
Nice clean install ! Well Done ! Only thing I’m 💭 g about is strapping that item to the Blower wheel housing. Strapping something to a Spinning object is not desirable. Vibration will shorten the Life of it ! Like #448.
You’re the sharpest Pro on KZread. Your customers and l are lucky to have you.
good job👍👍👍
Great job looks gud
UV air scrubber is what we use. Not too familiar with the one u installed but air scrubber is way easier to install.
Another amazing job brother keep it comin!!! Whats your take on the reme halo its what we sell in fl for iaq
Dope dude.
Little over kill with the screws and tape when reconnecting flex to the transition, but to each their own!

I was gonna say that it makes me wonder how long it takes him to do these installs due to his ocd. Don't get me wrong I would live for my system to look this clean. I just figured it would take 1000 hours lol. Maybe I'm just slow idk...
Ionizers clump air particles together making them larger and easier to filter. Putting them after the filter isn't going to do much.
@justingibson8788

Airscrubber by aerus manual says in supply air. I see what you're saying that's why when I sell them I let them know that for a few days you'll have more dust on surfaces as everything falls out of the air.
Nice looking job as usual. Wouldn't it make sense to insulate the transitions between the filter racks and the return plenum?
@QualityHVACR
3 жыл бұрын
Thx! Return plenum and transitions were lined.
I like the idea of the 5” with better air flow and filtering, but could I also change over my return air vents? Have 2 system; 3 returns down stairs in different sections, and one master up stairs in a large open area.
Awesome instructional vid. Just wouldn't be the same in a 170 deg texas attic. 😓
Good work nice and clean. I think spray glue would have been better to use instead of just duct tape.
Thank you for these amazing advanced vids of hvac tech I'm thinking about going into hvac tech do you any pointers or help ?
Nice attic
Good job 😜
An attic that big ????? I DREAM OF IT
Will you FollowUp on the operation of the components you added to see if they are working properly and effectively..???
Nice and clean. It does suck how u had no choice on where to put the purifier bcuz the box says before any supply. And u have those 4 zones and 2 of em are right next to it
Nice job man clean!! What size transformer do you have for the IAQ? 75va?
UV light in the air handler system is the only way to use a UV light. Good stuff. Any UV thats powerfull enough to kill will also burn you. so this is perfect. I run one in the air handler.
Awesome work as usual Zack, what's the purpose of the UV light?
Scissors for Flex duct is key
Nice job. A virgin system w no boxes of crap picked around unit!! What are you doing for fresh air intake? Dedicated duct to outside or draw from attic?
Very nice
Yes mastic tape everything and your gud
How do you change out the filter if it’s all screwed and taped together?
