The tutorial is good. Re-installing the cheek pads requires skill and patience as it is very hard! at least I found it hard. It's a very stimulating activity to create new curses

Completely agree! Being only my first few times doing it the best plan of action is to insert the portion closest to the rear of the helmet first before attempting to slot into place

DO you know if the new SRL 3 will pair with the new Go Pro Hero 12 action camera ?

Thanks for releasing the video so soon after the official release of the srl 3! I’m curious if srl 3 can be charged while in use. I often got out of juice on my srl 2 on a longer rides. Charging it shuts the unit down.

No it doesn’t. Since the battery is on the inside of the shell, it is not allowed. The battery will heat up during charging and when something goes wrong during that process your head will be fried….

thanks for the video. Great! Sena should make a detachable battery unit, so you can just take it with you and charge. Also, it looks very similar to Sena srl-mesh except for the plastic bits, so will not fit Neotec 3. If you want Neotec 3 with mesh, then you have to buy SRL3. Disappointing decision from Sena.

Does anyone know how the actual hardware of this set? Is it the same as the SRL Mesh just re-designed to fit in the 3rd gen Shoei's? Or is another chipset being used?

I recently used it in a tour around Europe all the while connected to a Cardo (Edge) through Bluetooth. Cardo have also released an update to connect via mesh so that should work to. All be it they have one of the newer Cardos

Sadly, it won't directly. It's a complete redesign on shape and fit but with more features. However, I believe there are talks on creating a kit to accommodate those with the Sena SRL2

I’ll just stick with my clamp-on 50S so that I can use my earbuds. Proprietary comms systems such as this will obsolete out before the helmet does.

So for each new GT-Air and Neotec that Shoei bring out, your gonna have to change your comms too? Really dislike the idea of a helmet manufacturer having these partnerships with comms manufacturers.

So, sena made built in battery for TOURING helmet again...🤦seriously, third f-n time! I had cardo sho-1 for the first neotec, and that system was brilliant in its design, as it was crap from technical standpoint at the same time. And srl for neotec 2 is vice-versa. Non detachable battery, and even non chargeable on the go, for touring helmet is ABSURD sena! When i ride all day long i HAD to choose when and for how long i could use my headset for 300 bucks - nice job sena, nice f-n job

Got mine from Infinity today - It's really the cheek liner replacement that I'm struggling with - I actually don't see how it can work because the cables would surely need to route *through* the cheek pad. I'm probably missing something, but the fact that this part gets 'glossed over' in the video makes me think there's nothing tidy that you can do, and that this is not as 'integrated' as made out..

If you have time to bring your helmet and SENA unit in, we’d happily be able to fit it for you. In regards to the wiring, behind the cheek pads are grooves and channels for the cable to situate in, none of the wires need to go through the cheek pad.

@@infinitymoto awesome thanks very much but I managed it in the end. It’s a bit of a faff though - really it ought to be easier to fit for such an expensive piece of kit that’s purpose designed for the neotec! I actually found it easier to fit my packtalk edge to my gt-air!

Just fitting mine now, and the only way i can see to reinstall the cheek pad onto its posts is to do it before installing the "cable management" brackets, otherwise there is no space to slide the plastic strip onto the posts.

As a cardo user, I hate these proprietary systems. And with the bulge it seems impossible to stick one on. The boom channel is also on the wrong side for aftermarket, probably on purpose and i detest this kind of practices. I'll go for the schuberth c3 pro, they leave us no choice. I would buy it in a heartbeat if it weren't for sena, What a disappointment. I'd rather ride with an aliexpress helmet than give my money to this company.

This must be a bad commercial for the Sena device. The guy is quicker in the mouth than in his hands. You do several extra complicated moments to install the sena device and don’t show the most difficult part, to reinstall the side panels. For example don’t remove the inner liner, not necessary at all.

  • @Bikes_and_Hacks

I'd rather pay a few more bucks for the helmet with the speakers already installed, plug and play, like schuberth. Doesn't make sense a helmet with the emplacements for only one specific system and you still have to take off all the interior and waste a lot of time with all the cables, and speakers and all that sh*t..

Unfortunately, the SRL 3 is a dud, voice commands don't work and SENA is not interested in providing any support to anyone with this problem. Forums suggest that there are a large number of SRL-3 units with a dud chip. A very costly and unreliable product. Buyer Beware. I note I have an original SRL-1 unit that works fine, technology upgrades dont always bring better solutions.
