    By the way, a month ago I contacted HomeDefence-24 about this pin working cross-launchers. He confirmed what you say; the one pin is the same for all the Umarex line, even the Compact. IOW, even though the Company markets the Modify Pin separately for each Umarex model, it is the same one pin for all Umarex actuators/caps (I don't know the name, so that's what I named the part. Hmm. . . let's call it "thingy" and be done with it).

    Wasn't the restrictor what made it the 16 joule version? I'm so confused. Most other upgrade kits come with the shorter pin and the restrictor for the airway. Does adding that new pin at the punch mess with the restrictor? All 7 joule versions come without restrictors. So is it better to just get this punch pin instead? My blocks have all been pulled and shorter pins up top.

    Depends where you are in the world, here in France pistols or rifles you have have up to 20joules, in the UK 6ft lb for pistols and 12ft lb for rifles, anything over that you need a license. Luckily I have one of those too.

    Hello folks! I have a HDR50 11J version. I have already upgraded it by removing the U-shaped volume reducer from the CO2 chamber and installing the valve pin and flow restrictor disc from Powerkit.50 V2 11J by Homedefence24. Today I also got the Modifying PIN from Homedefence24. Now the question is - after installing the Modifying PIN should I keep the restrictor disc from the Powerkit.50 V2 or should I remove it? What will happen in terms of performace with or without the restrictor disc? I'm getting a bit confused as I don't have a chronograph and I cannot test it myself.

  • @Maddogairguns

    @Maddogairguns

    I think the modify pin is designed to be used without the restrictor disc, I was getting a steady 24-25joules using it on the HDR50, with all the other mods.

    @@Maddogairguns Thank you for the reply. I decided to sacrifice several capsules of CO2 and do some experiments. 1. Removed Powerkit.50 V2 restrictor disk (1mm hole) + Modify PIN. Very powerful first shot but the performance was dereasing rapidly with every next shot. CO2 lasted for 6 shots but the last 2 shots were very weak. 2. Installed Powerkit.50 V2 restrictor disk (1mm hole) + Modify PIN. Weaker shots but you get constant performance for 10-12 shots. Then the performance rapidly drops and you need to change the CO2 capsule. 2. Installed Powerkit.50 V2 restrictor disk (1mm hole) + Original PIN. To be honest, I couldn't really feel any difference between the Modify pin and the Original one when you have the restrictor disk installed. I don't have a chrono to measure any values but the way it felt was quite the same. All the three experiments were done with Powerkit.50 V2 export valve pin and removed volume reducer. To sum up - if you want a few but very powerful shots, get the modify pin. If you want kind of good constant performance for 10-12 shots, install Powerkit.50 V2 restrictor disk + export valve pin. In my opinion the combination of Powerkit.50 V2 and Modify Pin is worthless.

    I would like to see a comparison with either two 7.5j or two 11j with only the pin replaced on one of them to actually measure the difference of power if any. The pin seems to be a very controversial mod. Some say it increases power, some say no difference

  • @Maddogairguns

    I don’t think they are supposed to be a tuning mod for more power, but more to give consistent power over 6-8 shots.

    @@Maddogairguns but why would the power fluctuate if the pin is fixed in place? I do know that if lock tight is not re applied with the new pin installtion, then the new pin becomes loose. Most that replace the new pin do not apply this and i can see this causing inconsistencies. I personally do not see the pin needing to be upgraded at all. Still waiting for proof good enough to mess with the pin. By the way, Your videos rock my brother

    My modded 11 joule version HDR50, hits about 25 joules, but that goes down rapidly after each shot and ending up at around 14joules. Using this modify pin in the quick piercer, makes the power more consistent through 6-8 shots, now it sits around 25-24 joules for six shots, The video I will release on Sunday evening will show what I mean, however it didn't work well on the HDR68.

    In regards to Koomba's comments, there was another KZreadr who installed the Modify Pin and did not see improvement on the chrono. In that video I commented that I found it hard to believe that HD-24 would all of a sudden start selling snake oil, so to speak. They are the established experts and pioneers on all things Umarex upgrades. They came out with this Pin after all the other upgrades offered. If it doesn't improve performance that begs the question, why would HD-24 do that? Why would they throw away their reputation over a low-cost piece of metal. So I don't accept your allegations Saucy Koomba. In any event, I noted too back then that HD-24 said that on this install your Umarex should have the valve block AND restrictor BOTH removed. I just bought a chrono. On my Compact that has the valve block removed (it is plastic on the Compact) and no restrictor, I am going to do a chrono test with the stock Co2 actuator. And then I will do a chrono with the Modify Pin installed. I will report the results in here if that's OK.

    I think a lot of people are getting their knickers in a twist, because they believe it is a mod for more power. I and others have had varying success using the pin, and I'm always honest about something that doesn't work. Not forgetting that the keyboard heroes that come on spouting rubbish, can never back up their claims with hard evidence (a video would do it).
