Thanks for clearing up a lot on the AP. My wife just got me one for Father's Day and it just arrived today. Updated my firmware as soon as I got it but didn't understand why I couldn't download the maps and kept getting that message you had. It's good that you clarified later on that I didn't need to download the OTS maps. Saved me a few headaches. Lol. I appreciate the in-depth explanations which I couldn't find anywhere else on KZread.

Hella late to this but did you use a battery charger just to marry it? I just bought both an accessport and battery charger

how long does it take for the first flash ?

If you put stage 0 does it do anything or just put the tuner on the car

Is it ok to use the stage 1 tune even if you have an intake and aftermarket exhaust on the car? (Got it used and dont know what the specific parts are)

If I’m installing a Stage 1+ do I HAVE to instal the Stage 0 first? Or can I just go straight to Stage 1+ tune? (I have a Cobb intake and remark catback)

You can go to whatever tune you want, no need to do it in stages, you just upload a map according to your mods

@aromanracing Any info on whether or not dealerships can see the car has been tuned after uninstalling and going back to stock?

They can see when the last time was it flashed. They cant see the tunes but they will put 2 and 2 together if they see a bunch of mods 🤷‍♂️

I plug my accesport into my Mac and it still does not read that there is an AP ?? step 1 ... fail and I have no idea why lol

So marrying on stage 0 will not void your warranty??? I've been wanting to install to monitor the car with the gauges but idk if it will void my warranty...

If you aren't modding anything then keep running your oem map, shouldn't have any issues.

Any connectors? Not at sll. It just plugs in into the obd port and marry it to the car and done

i have a chromebook will it work to upload to the accessport or would i need a different laptop ?

Think any computer works, doesnt need memory at all for the tiny program. All that program is there is to update and upload maps

If I update after marrying/mapping my car, do I need to uninstall and reinstall the update or will it do it on its own when I turn it on? Next question, when I upgrade to SF instake and need to upgrade it to Stage 1+, do I uninstall and reinstall the new map?

Lance, you do not have to uninstall it to get the latest updates. Also, whenever you change your setup, you simply select the map to match what you are running.

Sorry for getting to you so late, didnt get notification. Dont have to uninstall the map, for updates, check the firmware update numbers, if its different from yours, just do it as a precaution

what if i have an aftermarket intake and cat back exhaust to not void the warranty would the stage 0 map be fine to use

Running a cold air intake on a Subaru requires a tune. A tune may void warranty but Subaru will likely refuse warranty work to replace an engine that has a cold air intake on it. ANY changes to the way the car breathes requires a tune.

Talked to someone from Cobb today and they said Stage 0 will likely get flagged by the dealership and can void/be used to deny a claim. It still has to flash the ECU changing some of the properties.

@@ARomanRacing They said it wasn't possible, it had to flash the ECU to be able to access the things the AP monitors unfortunately

@@coach_jaydub8913 well that sucks, cause how can we monitor some stuff with an obd reader but they cant have that option with the accessport. Think they just want to.force you to marry the car and in turn it has to flash the ecu forcing you to have one accessport per car at the time and no be able to have it as an obd reader

hmm any car can be tunable, it all depends on the softwares that are done out there for the cars, I think maybe open source tuning might be available, but that be a question for a tuner.

I have a question I am pro tuned but I recently bought and accessport if I connect my accessport to marry it to my car will my pro tune get deleted or how do I keep my pro tune and add it to my accessport? Also my car was pro tuned by the previous owner so I don’t know who did the tune or what the tune consists of mods wise I was just told it was pro tuned by the last owner from what the Subaru dealership had told me where I got the car from. Thanks for the help if you can answer the question!

Thats gonna be tough, usually to be able to get the tune you need the original file to be uploaded to the accessport to be able to run the same tune on the car. If the car is already tuned and no accessport sold with the car, i would go get it tune with your newly accessport to make sure everytbhing is reading correctly and fine

@@ARomanRacing that is what I have researched for the most part so far. Also I talked to Cobb about it and they said kinda of the same thing. I have some parts that I need to install anyways so that’s what I was planning on doing. But I saw ur video and was like I wonder if could just add the accessport and it would learn my tune haha wouldn’t that be nice huh! @@andrewcollins3 I did get an accessport but I still haven’t installed it yet. I kinda had to put it on hold and I’m in the process of learning how to use rom raider. But I’ll keep you updated on when I do marry it before I actually tune the car myself with the new part I have aswell to still put on the car.

I plug mine in, and it gets stuck on "Verify ignition is ON" infinitely. Trying to identify it gets me a "cannot communicate with vehicle" error

@@ARomanRacing Bought it used, and have updated it to latest firmware. Cable connection is kinda funky so I am hoping it is that and not my headlights/door scuff lights, I bought the car secondhand with them and don't know how the latter is hooked up lol

It should have it, should be the stock map. If you dont have it, make sure you updated your accessport and check that the maps have been uploaded

Oversteer/ will only void the warranty for anything they can prove failed directly due to the tune. Sometimes dealers just suck though and might fight doing work if they know the car is modded, but basically if you’re tuned and have a suspension issue and you have stock suspension you can still get warranty work done

Oversteer/ the person you’re selling it to will have no real identifiers if flashed back to stock and the dealership will have no reason to check
