Installing Our Eufy 2K Video Doorbell - Wired
We recently installed the Anker Eufy 2K video doorbell in our new home. The doorbell is battery powered but also has the option to be powered by your existing doorbell wiring. That way, if the power goes out, the battery will keep the doorbell working. The installation process was extremely easy with straightforward steps and instructions. We really liked how it worked with our existing mechanical doorbell, which meant that the Eufy Homebase could be located somewhere else in the house. Our favorites features are no monthly fees, human detection notifications to our phones, and local video storage which does not need to go to the company's cloud!

Thanks for walking us through the steps to wire the doorbell. You guys are too cute together and extremely entertaining 😊. Thank you!
Ours worked good for 2 yrs then started getting offline and online. Customer service is good. I'm gonna get the battery one this time add-on because we have a Base 2.
You didn't show how you wired to existing doorbell.
It I believe I read works off batteries no matter which one you buy, the wired one however actually uses the wires to continuously charge the battery, the battery only one you must charge every few months !
A pineapple door knocker? Oooh. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? 😂
How does your two-way voice feature sound? I have exact same one and there’s a lot of static at the doorbell when someone talks from inside.

Our two-way voice feature sounds normal. We don't experience static sounds that you described when doing a 2 way conversation
would you recommend the doorbell? i'm in the market to buy one

I'd definitely recommend this doorbell. Amid all of my research, this was the best one for us and it lives up to my expectations.
Don't you really also need to show how to set up the Homebase since on initial set up I believe it has to be connected by Ethernet to your broadband router?
Hi! If I wire the Eufy doorbell, it will work during a power outage and operate on battery power?

Hello! If you get the model we did, then yes it should use the battery if the power goes out. It'll save "events/detections" locally and when the power comes back on, those events will be viewable on your phone
Do you have to turn off the circuit braker when installing? Or is switching off the doorbell transformer sufficient?

I'm not too sure. We turned off our circuit breaker and tested for inactive electricity with a multimeter. If you went with the turning off just the transformer, I'd still double check with an instrument. Safest is turning off the breaker.
Wasn't that installed a little low to see who is at the door?.. Whats the resolution lIke?... Can you read delivery vehicle number plates on the drive or roadside maybe? How about cutting an extended version of the video with some more day to day experiences, etc

Hello! For us it wasn't installed too low. One thing we did was have one person hold the camera, watching the live feed, while the other one walked up the sidewalk. That way we knew where to place it. In our case, you can't really see licenses on vehicles on the road. Driveway, yes, but not road. It does however pick up faces extremely well
Did it work with your existing in home doorbell chime

Yes it does! It can work with any existing doorbell chime or you can use the "homebase" it comes with

It came with a bunch of stuff. There's the 2k video doorbell, mounting bracket, the 15 degree wedge to offset the doorbell if desired, the homebase 2 (brains of the system, local storage, and another chime if you wanted), ethernet cable, screws, extension wires, and charging cables. Has all you could need aside from tools

Nope, we were able to simply use the pre-existing doorbell wires since it had the correct power output for the Eufy
