I cannot express how helpful the image at 4:21 was. Thank you so much.
Thank you, I could not find my transformer until I saw your video and found it hidden behind the furnace switch.
Thank you so much . Very educational video I give you a 10 out of 10
I just did this with a 16V 30VA for a Reolink Wi-Fi doorbell. Upgraded from a 5V 10VA which was in the spare room closet for some reason. Builders...
Thanks very much Billy Bob .....it was helpful

Thank you brother, mind blow
Nice dave!
Super appreciated thanks.
Anyone have any videos on how to do a three door bell button setup? I have three doors. Possibly 4 doors if I wanted to do one of my interior porch doors?
Meanwhile I'm sitting here with my transformer than is over 60 years old that is still working great trying to figure how have it power a 2nd chime as well...
How do I know what I am looking at is my doorbell transformer?
How did you figure which chime wires go to which terminal?
How come the transformer is fully encased in metal?
Does it matter if the red and white wires are switched on the chime front/trans?
👍🔥
im just gonna ask this here in case someone can answer. So i bought the 16v 30va transformer that ring sells for my ring doorbell pro 2, so it seems that it may not be enough because the mechanical chime sometimes does not work sometimes for days at a time then it suddenly works again, the video doorbell itself works well. Im thinking of changing to a 24v transformer, will that break my mechanical chime?

My chime would not work like yours I had to turn it sideways and it works perfectly now every time.
Hello, I followed these steps for my Ring Pro 2 installation. My Ring doorbell is working with full power but the chime is not ringing. Now I tested the chime by touching the wires like u said but after attaching the Ring and jumper it stop. Any ideas?

@@czechyour66I'm trying to still find my dad after he left for milk.
If you upgrade your transformer to 24V from a 15 volt transformer would that increase possibly damage your chime and or light in the door bell switch making the light run hot and damage the plastic covering the light bulb due the increase in volts? Please advise.

@@ApartmentMaintenancePro Thank you
Same problem I just came across today installed a ring door bell with the chime at 10bolt it wasn’t enough power to power the chime it would just buzz noise so replaced transformer to 24volt and now it’s all gravy baby
Thanks for the help, but it is against code for that to be on the same circuit as the furnace. Furnaces have to be on a dedicated circuit

Please cite this code - as MILLIONS upon millions of homes have been built like this.
So I purchased a Eufy doorbell cam and the app notified me that I need to purchase a 16-30 transformer. I purchased one from amazon and it looks similar to your transformer pictured at 4:20, I have the same Chime box that you have but where do I place the transformer?

Depending on where you live... it might be in the attic, basement, or closet. Try to find the wiring in the attic coming from the front door/doorbell area. It will most likely be red and white and will go into an electrical box.
Does the chime have to support 24vadc? Do I need to purchase a chime that support 24 vadc?

No. Most of the voltage load will be used up by the doorbell camera. A 16V chimebox is fine.

Yip just make sure its 30va min, most the old ones are 10, the on the video is 20va, more than one ring 40va is better
