Glad it helped! Pretty easy install overall. Definitely get your fuel low enough for your gas light to come on. Even at a quarter tank there was so much in there

Wow, a lot of work involved on this project. You’re right, that was a strange noise when you first cranked the ignition on the start of the project. You did a great job! I’m not sure I could have tackled it. Lol. I was a little anxious when you got finished and cranked it back up. Perfect! 👍

Great video!! I switched from AAM to SB Automotive. Dave and Chris there fixed a ton of AAM's mistakes on my GTR. AAM's products are great but their service leaves a lot to be desired.. Mike was quite elusive and my car didn't run well at all after a FBO and tune they did. He finally got me right with Speed Density but I already had enough. Best of luck! Mine made 630whp after flex fuel and tune at SB Automotive!

Let's do this! Great vid. I think you should be able to open the gas cap to remove most of the pressure from the tank. Probably should have changed the fuel filters too.

Interesting. Never thought of that. But i think the pressure is inside the fuel lines not the tank. Opening up the access panel exposed the tank. No pressure there

I just did this to mine before Xmas . I pulled my pump relay out when the car was running , didn’t sound so harsh.

Honestly I had a headache the rest of the day. I was eating dinner and felt pretty loopy! Drank a lot of water and went to bed early and I was back to normal! LOL ;)

Just my 2 cents since I recently did a fuel pump install on my 370Z: 1. Be sure to remove and clean the blue o ring for the fuel pump housing. If you get liquid gas on it, it can deteriorate the seal. 2. For an easier start after installing an upgraded fuel pump, prime it a few times first. Priming it once doesn't put enough fuel pressure in the lines, there will still be air, that's why it took a while to start. Guessing E85?

I know you watched a few videos before attempting this, but honestly, this is a pretty good video. I just watched your video, and I think I can do it. @@BrosFOURRSpeed GM vehicles you have to drop the tank to access the pumps or what everyone does is make a cutout which is sketchy with all the fuel lines and wiring. Also the top of the tank uses a pressure ring that seals the system. The Nissans cover with bolts is way easier to removed and reinstall, just my two cents.

You can do it! It was a fun project to try out! You can start small and add a midpipe, 3in intakes and a stage 2 tune. World of difference!

@@driverx2010 Swapping the downpipes will put you at a stage 3 tune and you’ll need to do fuel injectors along with that. So if you just add the 3in intakes then you can run stage 2. That’ll be a great next step until you’re ready for downpipes and injectors

Excellent video! II have to replace just the secondary pump on my GT-R. Tempted to do this install. How long did it take you? I assume if I brought my GT-R to a shop that has done this job hundreds of times it wouldn't be too bad cost wise?

You can knock this out in a few hours. It really wasn't bad of a job. Just have an empty tank of gas. Nissan really likes to rip off GTR owners. So I'd avoid them. I could be wrong. But I'm sure they'd charge a fortune.

Brian whenever you do these things you look like if you are a certified surgeon doing surgery to your car. I also felt bad when you heard the car sounded (help me) when you turned it on.

Question: if I’m using e-85 fuel pumps. If I’m running out of fuel and there’s no e-85 is it safe to put in 91 octane?

@@BrosFOURRSpeed I did! Luckily a good friend of mine has a shop with a lift, but one bolt did break. Now I am trying to decide if I wa t to get a new intercooler or do the brakes. Between 421 The Snake and Tail of the Dragon, I’m thinking I may do the brakes.

Yeah brakes are probably a better next step for you then!! The upgraded Intercooler does keep my temps like 15 degree cooler. So eventually it'll be a good idea ;)

Great Job, I am sure you miss the car Quick question are the lines in the tank that connect to the pumps at the bottom except for the green connector interchangeable? I had marked mines and the lines fell in the tank erasing my marks lol I would imagine they have to since pumps that you replaced are identical. Thanks

I just replaced whatever the factory pumps had. So I duplicated how the stock one came out with the new ones going in

That could be a cool upgrade for the car! But bluetooth works flawless in it and it has navigation. Not sure if a new screen would show all the OEM gauges

Just utilizes the factory ones. Factory ones will last the life of the vehicle. Really no need for new ones. Strictly a pump replacement

Yeah I think Ideally the gas light should be on to do this. I watched one video where he had a half tank of gas. Elbow deep in gas! So at least mine wasn't that bad. I did the best I could to run out my tank, but just wasn't practical to wait a week to burn the rest off lol

It's honestly a pretty easy job. I'd do it again if I had to lol. I wiped the bottom of the filters off a bit. But that never crossed my mind to actually change them out

Yes there is. The new fuel pumps can push more fuel to through the fuel system. And with my bigger injectors and the next step, which is E85. The factory pumps cannot handle that
