And remove all jewelry, especially necklaces. Freak accidents happen. Back in the 70s, a coworker was electrocuted when his necklace medallion slipped into a slot in his drill. He did survive yet was never the same.

I am living full time in my van in the Wyoming winter. I installed this system in my van, and could not imagine living full time without it. Love my system. It’s been a warm winter, but the coldest temps so far have been between 0-10 degF.

For quick insulation you can hang cargo blankets along walls in a van and they are cheap at harbor freight. I have several of those 72x80" price $12-15 depending on sale to full price, also the double length which is 144 x 80 is about $18-20 each. So for $80 you can put on floor, sides, and find a way to put on ceiling, and that covers most of the back inside area of a van. For ceiling cut some wood strips that will reach from both walls and also bend upward arch and use that to cover ceiling with the blanket. They are quite warm if you sleep with one over you in bed too, or roll up in it.

Heating of 23,000 BTU is equal to 6700W. If it is a heat pump (air conditioner) the heat provided is about 3x the input power, thus about 2300W power in, presumably from gas or fuel. It cycles on and off to reach a target temperature, so the average power used could be much lower.

Hello Tory, I am so blown away by your strength and courage let alone the willingness to put in the hard work, I commend you on taking up the offer of radiant flooring, please approach your electrical installation with the same insight knowing your safety depends on it, the new goal zero 4000 PRO adding Yeti Link Vehicle Integration Kit, pulls power from your vehicle’s alternator while the vehicle is running and stops pulling power when the vehicle is off. So many electrical systems are installed by so-called professionals only to fail, it costs the same after it’s all said and done, so please trust your original gut feeling when you started your last build. God Bless, Stay Safe.

I’ve done HVAC for 30 years. People think a small space would be easy to heat and little understanding of how it works. I live in the SE and don’t live full time in my van, but I don’t understand why hydronic systems aren’t more popular. I get it’s expensive, but there is no price you can put on comfort and I believe the pain of big expenses fades faster than the joy you’ll experience for years to come.

Hey, i've only just found you! I've watched so many Van build videos in the last 3ish years, but never have I come across any so clever and artistically edited as yours are. Not only do you take a look at the whole thing from a slightly different angle, you also present them with your special kind of humour, while still remaining serious. If that is how you tackle life in general, then you're going far. Well done Tory. Oh, and to top it all, you have a new Subscriber, and not just because you're a beautiful woman, that's just the cherry on the cake.... real eye candy so to speak. No, because you are a breath of fresh air, in the way you are approaching this task. Good luck with the build, looking forward to the finished article and your 1st Van-tour.., but that's for another day. Take care, greets from Steve in snowed up Switzerland. I'm off now to watch this whole series thru, till i'm up to date, bye.

Hey Tori, how are you doing kid.?? I enjoy watching your videos very much the building of your van and your explanation of things I like the way you traced off the floor using the mat that was in there that was really smart one of the things I have learned from my building experiences a vehicles, especially vans your better off not referring out the floor and just attaching the insulation right to the ribs so that there’s some airflow underneath there and vent if there’s any moisture or something gets spilled it finds its way down through there and you can it will always dry itself off in the air, but at this point you can’t do that because you’ve done that and you’re putting that radiant heat in the floor that is absolutely the most efficient thing that you could’ve done radiant heat in commercial buildings and even some garages that I’ve done where we put the heat in the flooris a lot more efficient than hot air and I’m sure your design will be nice but this is about the night this morning a little after one here we’re on know where you’re at but it’s Christmas Eve so merry Christmas and have a very happy and wonderful new year. Looking forward to more content. Keep it coming kid.

Tory, you are such a kook! (And I mean that in a good way.) The look in your face when the tripod fell over was priceless. Give us more humor and kookiness! The van will be well suited for winter weather. What about 100°F summer days in the desert? I know a CHILLED water A/C system is some of the most efficient. Did you mention a price range for the combo DIY/pro install kit? $1,500-$4,000? Do you have an itinerary yet for 2024? I know for safety reasons you keep that info private, but perhaps you can coordinate some meet & greets with fans and viewers at various campgrounds. Van life is probably not for me due to physical limitations, but a self-contained tiny house on wheels is very enticing.
