The reason that happened was because you had the jack stands on the rear end housing and not the frame. that's why when you unbolted the shack all the suspension up and then when you unbolted the leaf spring the axle went up, I'm not picking on you here but advice is anytime you are doing suspension work always have your jack stands (or lift if you have one) on the frame not on any suspension components. If your truck were lifted it could have fallen on top of you because it wouldn't hit the bump stops on the frame to catch the truck life yours did. Don't want anyone getting hurt... I've made mistakes too everybody has.

I only have 2 leafsprings on my truck I lowered it with 2 inch drop shackles and shock extenders

Flip that front leaf spring bolt, so you don’t have to drop the tank every time, just a thought🤘

I almost died the same way almost losing my arm, It was my first part taking apart my flip kit and I had my truck lifted the same way you did when I took off the last nut on the u bolts and the leaf spring flew down.

I got my drop kit from DJM but I would recommend IHC

I have 2/4 drop will it raise the rear 2 inches with the caltracs?

I have a 5,7 drop and they did raise the rear like half a inch or an inch very little, but I couldn’t tell you how many inches it will lift

The leaf springs were under tension because you had all the trucks weight on them with the jack stands there 😂 youre gonna get someone injured or killed putting out the wrong instructions

Even if you took the weight off it that wouldn’t change the lower leaf. It doesn’t bend.

Yeah man I was watching this with my nephew and I am sincerely glad you didn’t get hurt and I could correctly show him how to load and unload a rear suspension I suggest editing it out or do a safety segment at the beginning so we are not getting hurt learning how to install bolt ons

Na bro not really but I do have 22” tires if you are running stock tires it might scrape but it’s nothing major like they are minor scrapes and it doesn’t scrape everywhere it just depends

Why would you put the jack stands under the rearend? They should have been placed under the rear frame rails or behind the cab on the frame. You're lucky you didn't get killed.
