Installing Balljoint Deletes On Cassie's LS Swapped Jeep Wrangler!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Ball Joint Delete Kits: americanironoffroad.com/
Most Jeep owners are fully aware of how much Balljoints can be a pain! With our larger tires, and heavy offroad use, the factory balljoints are just not up to the task and fail quickly. Even aftermarket balljoints have a hard time staying tight and reliable.. Its mostly due to the fact that the Balljoint design itself leaves a lot of room for improvement.
Some of you may be familiar with Balljoint Deletes, and some may have never heard of them!
Head over to American Iron Offroads website for more info, and to see all the axles they produce kits for. Or, check out the facebook page to see real world reviews, questions, testimonials, and feel free to ask any questions you would like! / about
Balljoint Deletes are not much harder to install compared to a typical balljoint job. But either way, its not a quick simple job... And its nice to know that we wont have to do this job over and over compared to a typical ball joint replacement.
In a way, these are kind of like a hybrid kingpin setup.. Some of you are familiar with a kingpin and know that they are very reliable and strong, some people refuse to own an axle that has balljoints! With this setup, we replace the tapered ball joint with the ball in socket design and swap over to a Spherical Rod Bearing setup that sits in a machined cup housing with a through bolt.
In this video, we show you how to install a set of balljoint deletes into a Jeep Wrangler Dana 30/44 axle. The process to install them is the same across all the years of the early Jeeps up till 2018. The Wrangler JL and JT have a different install, but its very similar.
If you never want to worry about pressing in balljoints again, and your looking for one of the strongest, tightest setups, then these are for you!

In my experience the manual torque specifications are wrong! Is too tight, the steering wheel comes too hard… can you talk more about your torque setup?
2 weeks ago on the backside of Windrocks Cadillac Hill, my D44 ball joints decided to separate and my wheel nearly fell off. Had to leave the jeep and go to a store, get ball joints and come back and do a midnight ball joint job on the trail. Ordered the deletes ASAP!
Cassie has made a return
Cassie, welcome back. You had me worried.
Great video as usual from you guys. It’s been awhile since I have watched any of your videos and was blown away by your weight loss, awesome job man congratulations
I'm Angolan and I have a jk 3.6 and I've been following all your videos since then, I've made some changes and I'm adapting to purchases and transport costs until here... Thank you for sharing excellent videos and I'm learning more and more.... You've lost weight... Good job ⚒ strong hug from Africa Angola
Love my deletes. They are so solid and improve both onroad and offroad handling.
I’ve never had luck with synergy tie rod ends or ball joints. They tend to last 6-12 months for me and then they are done, that’s under 10k miles. The deletes I put in have been great.

GOOD TO SEE YOU BOTH BACK!!
So glad I caught this video this weekend. I looked at these deletes a few weeks back but decided to wait due to price, but this discount is fantastic! Just ordered mine. Great install video per usual (appreciate the tips and jokes as well)!
This has been a Jeep part install weekend. I got my new Reign JLU on the 19th, and I have new bumped, rock sliders, flush mount tail lights, and more to install. Glad I have the time off for the holiday. ^.^
I'm so glad you did this conversion. I've been seriously considering doing it but don't know anyone who has experience with them.
Well I'm sold. Been considering doing this but was a bit apprehensive because my JK is a daily. Glad to see Cassie back!! Happy T-Day yo!!
Great Video! Thanks for sharing this. Might be our next Jeep upgrade. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
Checked my ball joints and to my complete surprise the drivers side were shot! I had no idea they were bad until you explained the correct way to check them. Just ordered a set of these bad boys with the 15% off, thank you SO much for sharing this video!

Happy Thanksgiving’s Day! Good to see Cassie again.
Awesome vid glad to see these are available for the D44
You can also put the rear hub bolt half way in and put a socket and extension on it then turn the wheel to press it against the frame
Cassie adds the class! You two have such a great energy when working together. It’s the fun couple/family dynamic that had me subscribe originally. Cheers guys! You’re awesome
Looks like you’ve been getting fit, hope everything is going good.
Bout to get a set for my jk 44 front end. Got dw as well but only over bumps over 50 mph
thanks great video all my answers. my next replacement absolutely 👍🏻
Kinda wish i had gone with these in my new axle. Will probably go to them when the ball jpints start wearing.
Ben. I found the LSXR truck intake fits the same as the stock intake. I tried a Holley intake but the snout pushed the throttle body into the radiator. Fitec has the ls3 truck injectors. The Holley throttle body seems to be a better fit. Fabrats is using the same intake on the FJ build.
You made it look easy. I have an adjustable wrench, so I’ll let a shop do it!
Great video you guys!
5:40 I was wondering what those were! Those are pretty cool.
Yeah! LJ content!
Nice Jeep, I regret selling my JL. Just changed ball joints in my JK Rubicon, looks like a good product.
Great vid as alway. I bought the Teraflex adjustable balljoints about a yr and a half ago and already having issues keeping them tight(they're adjustable) think im about to pull the trigger on these....
Thats funny I was going to say a bit joke too but didn't want to be rude. Lol 😆 great video. Never got to run into you in NC. Love the channel. That Ls sounds good. Got an old 4 banger in my yj. Been thinking of a 6 but that 8 sounds good.

Oh yeah
Ok ... you sold me. Ordered a set today. Any chance we'll be seeing this upgrade on the JT?

Can you guys do an update video on the ball joint delete and how they're holding up?

Hey Ben, I’ve been watching your show for a long time now and I’ve learned alot Thankyou. If you ever want a Jeep to work on for one of your shows I would drop mine off with you because I can’t figure it out and I’m about done with it. I was going to I get some Synergy ball joints when I had to replace my OEM joints but I'm glad I decided against them even though I'm only running 33s on my JK. I have the Teraflex ball joints now and I was wondering if you have an opinion or have heard of any issues with them?

I'm probably not the only comment, but to complete the swap, you should do a DIY alignment (toe in, toe out) and then center your steering wheel. Without disconnecting any rods, it probably didn't move much; however, I noticed a little left bias when steering straight.
@JKGearandGadgets

Steering wheel was already off center, we need to weld up a new drag link since we are out of adjustment from the axle swap. It did not change alignment at all.
Thank you for the marriage pun made my day cass said shut up. You two work well together
Hey! Recently discovered your channel and have enjoyed going through (very) many of your videos. Curious...on your front axle shaft, that red "ball" looking thing just before your brakes...what is that and what's the purpose? If you have a video about it, please share the link with me. Thank you!!
@JKGearandGadgets
Жыл бұрын
They are RCV axle shafts. It’s an entire shaft replacement that is made of chromoly steel (much stronger metal), and moves away from a ujoint to a CV (constant velocity joint). They are much stronger, and unlike a Ujoint they have the same strength even at a turned angle. They are pretty pricey, but warrantied against breaks, and once you start off-roading fairly hard then axle shafts are a much needed upgrade. I think I go over them a little bit in this video, but rcv has great information on their website. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gp12z9mamMLTlLQ.html
Shoot, I just installed some terraflex joints....
Most mechanics I've spoken to, say that bj deletes are insane. The vehicle was never designed to have the wheels mounted like that and need regular ball joints!
Very informative. Tip: click on 'tools' symbol in upper right corner and adjust playback speed to max (1.75x) . You will save minutes of your life to put towards doing the job. Didn't have any problems following instruction & doesn't sound like a chipmunk. Good luck!

Never replace ball joints again . . . Haha. I'm 68 years old and I'm replacing them on my Jeep Wrangler TJ at 130K miles and I've never had to replace ball joints on a truck before in my life and I doubt I will ever do it again. If these had been greased properly for the life of them I might not be replacing them now. Ive done a lot of wheel bearings though. Ive never seen these delete kits or I might have at least looked into them first. They LOOK like ball joints
So, I know the odds of my question getting answered is slim to none, but are there any ball joint deleted I can use on my tie rod and drag link or will that break them?
14:19 that aint no lie 😅
