Good morning Mike I'm only 3 minutes in and I looked up the spec. on that unit . Well it is about the same as a REDDOT unit I installed in a 1996 International . This truck was a single cab because it was modified to haul 40 foot plus beams on both side of the truck . This thing sort of worked . It just couldn't push enough air . Since you have a full size cab . Make sure you insulate the hell out of it before you put the interior in and add a light tint to the windows , because the sun will heat up the cab . Now I will finish the show .🙂🙂🙂
She has been in the shop for a while. I use to do some interior stuff but that was many, many years ago, sound deadening material-dont skimp on here - you will be so thankfull later :) Thank you for the video !
Just saw this on shorts good thing I figured out that you update playlist early👍🏻👍🏻
Love the CAD “cardboard aided design”. Works every time!
One thing about it if the dirt thing doesn't work out, you can always go into building custom dump trucks. You have done an amazing job on Lt. Dan, that's one heck of a serious piece of machinery.
You could put a piece of steel between the radiator (or whatever) and the drill hole as a backing plate for peace of mind next time. Excellent job overall.

...bend U's in there to CUP the fittings??? and use 1/2 inch spacers? (well start with 1/2 may be less like quarterinch spacers.... to use in the holes on the condinser bolt , bracket, spacer, concincer, nut, with washers in there where they need to be... I see it in my head... ;)

@@alexmikhael5061 We were talking about putting something behind the area Mike was drilling so that he didn't punch through and hit the radiator.
Laying that metal on the vise 3 different ways wishing you had something to hold it in place……had me laughing out loud1
Really enjoy watching your fabrication work! You are a gifted young man. I’ll keep watching.
That is a nice AC kit! And the install was awesome. LT Dan is looking better everyday. I can't wait to see it out in the field hauling and dumping. Great video Michael
Mike the hose kit would be good as a template to take the hose shop and get braided lines made. The braided lines would look good and give the hoses some protection from the elements. Can’t wait to see Lt Dan when it’s all done
Great job installing the hoses Mr Dirt Perfect
So happy to see the work start back up on Lt. Dan look fallward to any work done on him when you do work on him you do it write dont see no half ass short cuts your making better then factory build I know how much you just love the factory's intake on how thing could be done when you do work on him you do great work good job mr. DP
MacGuyver would be SO proud of you !! “ Git er done” . Great video.
Making the right noises always works for me.
Been around men who spend many hours working on 'machines' and am always enthralled at what is being done, the initiative and the skills in play. Lt Dan's build is one of these.

Moe, Curley, Larry and now Shimp I just enjoy it as the cast keep growing. Keep up the great work, best show on Tube.
Nice job. I believe that the interior will go better than expected. You have a lot of skill and talent.
Great video Mr Dirt Perfect and Man in the Shop
Hum belt tensioning device - kept you off the lathe and on the saw. Or a slug of pipe. As you have it to make a spacer. Nice job really.
DP u did well with the prep work for the ac unit on Lt Dan. Can't wait to see him doing so work 😌😌
By finding someone or motivation to do the interior, you really mean you're waiting on MBTS to do it for you.
Mr. DP, outstanding a/c install. Congrats. LT Dan should be impressed.
Instructor and DIY DP Mike has made installing an universal A/C look simple enough to get these “Think I Can” people out to their shops….lol. Great video Mike.
Very cool 😎 so far watching you put Lt.Dan together very good looking truck 👍😎🇺🇸 8:04am NY
I have been suffering Lt. Dan withdrawal symptoms , to combat them I have been watching the series over and over . Thanks for posting a new one :) Really enjoying your channel ! Too bad Arron wasn't in the last two videos. Man in the shop was a good substitute. :)
AC looking good you got more patience than I do. Thank you.
thumbs up ... i agree that welding the turn-buckle eyes is a good idea
Lt Dan is ready to stop being a shop decoration so there is room for the next project and he can get to work. His spot in the new stable down at the station is ready for him. Nice work on the AC setup. Looks like a mechanic designed it and not an engineer.
Love the Lt.Dan videos.
Another Great Job !!!!!!! Love it When a Plan Comes Together
Just remember on the mounting in the cab, hot air rises, cold air falls. But if that's a high volume unit it should keep the cab comfortable!
Any time your working with rubber especially hoses use spray silicone it makes it go together easier, spray it on a rag and wipe it on the metal fitting so as not to contaminate ac system silicone is wonderful stuff I use it often 🦆 Flintstone
Looking good coming along great getting closer
I love the Lt. Dan build!
You use your step drill bits more than I do. I save the step drill bits for the jobs where they are really needed. Even though they are quality tools, I don't want to get them dull doing ordinary tasks. I cannot sharpen my step drill bits but I can sharpen all of my regular drill bits with my Drill Doctors. I always use a starter punch and start with smaller drill bits. Nice job!
What a great video and an awesome build ! Can't wait to see Lt Dan on the road !!!!!!
Looks like a professional job. Thanks for sharing.
Nicely done sir, looks good.
If you wrap Electrical tape around your drill bit works as a stop so you can’t hit your radiator
Can’t wait to see Lt. Dan completed looking absolutely awesome DP
from the Netherlands thanks for the video DP
Well done Mike. You are one talented guy.
Thanks for the great video Mike!

nice work mike
When I saw you pull out that sheet rock knife I wanted to hand you my hose cutting tool thru the screen. Not only is it easier to use and makes a clean cut but it is hard to slip and open up your other hand bleeding all over the place.
Catching up on LtDan build. Hope to see it completed soon
Impressed with your fabrication process and results.

Lt, Dan lookin great can’t wait till it’s done and workin
When you started hooking up the turn buckle something screamed, “Put a jamb nut on it!” I think it is because of past experiences with the top link on my 3 point hitch. I once mowed into a stump with my bush hog because the top link had backed off. When I lifted the 3 point the blade’s didn’t clear the stump… the shear pins didn’t shear but the gear case input shaft did! I’ve never forgotten to jamb it tight since. Then, you said, “I put a jamb nut on it.” And, immediately the third rock swung back into orbit around the sun! Thanks Mikey for returning my world to equilibrium!!! That does look better than a factory install!!!
You did a job on installing it's good to see you back on track
Another step closer. Good job 👍
Lt Dan looking good can’t wait to see it on the job
Great video DP Lt Dan is coming right along love the build

Keep’em coming Mike like all your videos so far !
System looks real good nice work Mike LT Dan smile is getting bigger with everything you get completed 👍🇨🇦
A turn buckle!?!? You just made every mechanical engineer watching this, pucker up in a certain spot of their anatomy. LOL!!
That A.C. turned out well, Looking good! 👍🏼😊✌🏻🇺🇸
Hey y'all sure is good to see Lt Dan again, Really enjoyed the series so far. Looking good and keep the videos coming. Best wishes from the Pa backwoods.
It's coming along.it looks really good.u are doing a good job.nice looking truck
Don't forget to wire tie some cushions wherever those hoses touch the frame rails so they don't wear holed on the hoses where it may rub
I'm not an interior guy, per se. I have been doing automotive interiors since I was 15 (52 now). Done everything from molded carpet to seats to headliners, insulation and even speaker covers. Did you know that pantyhose make great speaker grill covers? They come in so many different colors, it's not hard to match your interior. Anyway, I'm too far away to give you a hand, but I'll be the first to make the terrible comments from my chair here. LOL! Love the build. It is always great to see someone who can inspire people to get off their butts and work.
That a/c install is clean. Looks fantastic. Next summer when it's 95° with 90% humidity, you, or MBTS, or Matt, or whoever, will be singing its praises for sure. Those are the times when a/c is worth its weight in gold, lol. Nice job!

Lt. Dan is coming along nicely I really have enjoyed watching the build😎😎😎
Lt. DAN Is coming along fine. Can't wait to see him on the job sites in the future. Keep up the great videos. Greetings and Merry Christmas from Lancaster county Pa.
Mike I would like to make a suggestion if you can get some old firehose from kleeman take and wrap around those hoses to prevent chafing that what we do on the boat also you turn it inside out and it's black to go with everything.
Keep up the good work on Lt Dan will be watching all of your videos Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year 🎉

26:05 THIEF. You stole my drill and battery!
Looking good❤
Old timer tip- get a yellow or white paint pen and label all your lines. Everything, or at least color code the ends. Makes maintenance way easier. Wires too.
that turnbuckle is better then new .i love it. all belts should have it
Awesome Mike 🏴
That's a beautiful truck.

It sure looks good!
I worked on armored trucks many years ago doing retrofits and custom installs on vintage trucks to satisfy union contracts. What we found is when the drivers and passengers felt cold air on their upper body they felt cool, some of the trucks had roof top evaps, and some had floor mount center counsels blowing towards the windshield. The center mounts did not do as well of a job as the roof top evaps. again blowing on the driver. I know your dash space is limited hence the center install. Insulation of the floor will be very helpful as well as the roof of the truck. A high idle with system demand will help also. All in all an impressive build!
Just love watching your channel, informative, funny, but honestly we need MAN BEHIND THE SCENES back. Lmao
Lt Dan is coming on a treat. MBTS, NYA now MITS! You have some great work mates. The turnbuckle was a good idea. Thanks for posting. 🇬🇧👍
As usual, another excellent vid on building Lt. Dan. I don't know why it's so facinating watching you on this project Mike, I just know I can't wait for each installment.

I don't think I blinked the whole time you was drilling the whole on the radiator. 🤣
Great job! I know a little bit about this stuff, my dad used to own Frigiking.
Looks good. Can’t wait for MBTS to get back. You really beed to have a special unveiling event for Lt Dan when it’s finally done. Then we’ll all go into withdrawals until you do another build. Love the channel.
Plenty of details on the Lt. Dan series. I'd have knots all over my head. From beating it against the wall. Glad you have the knowledge on how to do all this stuff.
Excellent love the mechanic side and fab work keep it up 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Ac is essential for safe and efficient operation. You did a wonderful job of retrofitting a system. We miss Aaron too.
👍Always an adventure; thanks for sharing. If you haven't done the wiring as of now, consider "marine grade" pre-tinned conductors and pre tin any copper end points using rosin based flux and heat shrink tubing that has built in sealer/adhesive as opposed to the acid based flux used on copper plumbing. Your buddy with the marina can probably guide you.
Nice install,looks good =)
good job dirt perfect.
Well hot damn Lt.Dan has AC and nice job on Fab and location of all the plumbing. Come on spring time. I wanna see it ripping down the road❗
I like that system . I'm going to order me one for my 379 day cab
Hang in there, we have faith in you.
Have to say that was a good one!
