    JK Gear and Gadgets I was wondering what to do when the time came to add accessories. This is really clean and safe. A lot of us don’t realize the hazard of unprofessional wiring. When connections get loose and arc....... or when moisture gets into a wire because it was not sealed at the terminal..... all of that leads to failure - possibly a fire. Not to mention trouble shooting. This is the way to go!

    Hey love your vids man keep up the great work, I had an idea for your red lights on the bottom always staying on, what u could do instead of running that little red wire straight to the battery with the big wire run the little one to a switch inside which acts like a main power to all your switches which will turn them off until you flick the switch then they all are on. That's what I did in my car just to keep my battery from dying I eana main switch to activate all the other switches and works amazing so u still have the option to run lights when the car is off

    I've been running the S-Pod system since they first his the market and love mine, dunno is yours has the same thing as mine does, but to the left of my first switch there was what looked to be a screw in fuse/ reset looking button. I didn't like the lights bring on all the time and was looking at it one way to figure out how to shut them off. To my surprise that fuse/rest looking thing turned out to be an on and off switch for my lights on the pod. Nowhere in the instructions did it say anything about this. I didn't notice it right away cause it blended in with all my black plastic and the black on the aluminum switch pod. Maybe something to see if yours has the same type of small button??

  • @michaeldurling793
    @michaeldurling7935 жыл бұрын

    What are you going to do with the A pillar switches? You could use one of those to control the small hot wire to the S pod so the systems energized on demand regardless of ignition on or off. I'm running the Apollointech system with the built in ammeter and love it. I did install the fuse tap that came with it, just one more level of protection in case of a short to ground. Needing the ignition on has not been an issue for me. I do like the way their switch bank mounts, mine has the bracket over the footman's loop and it interferes slightly with the freedom panel latch but not enough to hurt anything. The one thing I want to figure out if possible, is how to put a dimmer on the switch bank, they are fairly bright at night it would be nice to tone them down a bit.

    I have a question that nobody has been able to answer for me yet or if it is possible. I have a enclosed cargo trailer with several lights inside and out that are hooked up to switches and a battery so it can run lights without truck. The lights on the back of the trailer are hooked up to a switch in trailer but we want to also hook the lights to our reverse wire from truck so they come on when we backup. Do I need a relay or would a 3 way switch work? I figured with truck battery and trailer battery I would get some kind of back feed to me 2 way switch that I have now.

  • @doctorbills790
    @doctorbills7907 ай бұрын

    Yeah... very nice install, but (EE here talking) that wire link between the circuit breaker and the power source will not handle 60 Amps... and thus it becomes the "fuse" in the series circuit. You might want to fix that. I would use minimum #6 gauge and #4 if it's really hot where you climb.

    Each switch should have it's own fuse no? I just bought a 4 switch toggle set up and they say daisy chain the positive terminals as well as the negative ones and to have one line for each coming out of the end terminal, one for positive lead, one for negative lead, however each switch is rated at 20 amps, so each switch should have like a 15 amp fuse, not one fuse in the lead coming out for all 4 toggle switches, so Im stuck not knowing what to do?

    Do you recommend getting the spod switches for setting up lightbar and pod lights? Wondering if I should get a lightbar on my bumper and pod lights in the back so I can see more at nighttime. Any information about upgrading my lighting system would be helpful! How does your cold intake system do in winter? Do you find you lose mileage in winter due to cold weather?
