Man, I just got a 64 color kit for my C43 that came with the 3 colors only as well. Tks for the vídeo. It doesn’t look easy but it’s doable. Had to get this kit because the one color I want didn’t come on the 3 color. Blue!!

Thanks this video is great until we watched it we thought our kit was missing a control box for the middle lights and vents. But thanks to you we know we have to use the 2 wires with pin ends in the door connector. the kit had no instructions

Looks great well done. Can you answer a question or two? I have factory fitted 3 colour and am hoping to fit the same type vents as you have with just the 3 colours (so not upgrading to 64 colour). My question is to just fit the vents - would i need to take off the door cards and insert the new pins - or was that part associated with the 64 colour upgrade? as i say i'm looking at fitting the new 3 colour air vents- is it just a case of wiring into the centre console ambient light plug - like a piggyback plug ? thanks

hello it seems you forgot to mention where you ran the door panel final plug into. after you did the whole door panel job you routed the final plug into the cabin however you did not say where were supposed to plug into afterwards. any help on that?

Hey i installed this kit and got it to work and everything, but at the start i had purple red the bright colours but now i only have like 40 shades of blue,green,cyan. Any ideas as to why? I noticed it flashed between purple and blue like 3 times then it stayed with the blue green cyan colours only.

You only pin one door, this just allows the connection to go into the cabin to join the rest of it in sync

I’ve got the exact same car as you but struggling to choose between the options for the 64 colours, which one did you pick for your car as there’s about 10 different ones to go of? Cheers

Hi mate message the seller and they’ll show you which one to choose, let them know what car you have and that you have 3 colour ambient lighting already

The lights will turn on when you unlock your car even when the car is off, it’ll be in sync with your interior roof light

Wait I still don’t get it, how do the lights get power? Some people tell me to just plug in the OBD2 port but that doesn’t work for me, than some say, connect the main module to port 3 on the door side and than others is to connect the pins like you, but I’m lost and don’t know what to do

Good video mate. I had the illuminated vents fitted in my 2018 GLC63 today but when I left the installers I had loads of errors come up on the dash did you get any messages or problems? They have connected the box that came with the vents to the can bus on drivers side so I unplugged it and no more error messages?!?

I haven’t had any error messages, with mine, usually you connect through from the passenger side, however I don’t think it would make much difference, what errors came up?

Cheers. Yeah they plugged it into drivers side under the floor. I was getting allsorts coming on the dash like brake assist error, electronic diff not operational and the engine management light came on so I unplugged the box and just left the rest of the wiring in and restarted the car and they didn't didn't come up again but I did scan with my obd and got u0001 & u0100 permanent and they won't clear. Wonder if that's because the rest of the vents wiring is still in?

Hi mate, I got another local audio installer come out and have a look and he sorted it in 5 mins! Basically it wasn't plugged into the Cambus but another port that looked the same. It was under the floor on driver side though.

Also did you do the ambient lighting in the back of the coupe? Only realised theres lights there too haha

Didn’t do the lights in the back, the kit doesn’t come with that, but I think the only real lights at the back are the air vents that I could add and the one in the roof, which is not noticeable enough for me to be bothered to change haha

Hi yeah I couldn’t find anything on it either, which is why I was learning as I was filming which is why it isn’t totally clear, there are two harnesses with 4 different coloured pins, one of the harnesses has a female connector and the other is a male connector, you have to place these into the existing door harness, in the video it shows how to do this, and I didn’t have to pay any tax when I got mine

This kit just supplied the stuff for the front, however fitting the back seat vents and footwell lights would be the only ambient lighting that’s needed in the coupes, which is the same process as shown in the video

Why don’t you respond to people who’s commenting that they lights aren’t on but you’ll respond to someone who has it working and going.
