Hey Flex I like your channel. Always cool mods for the average person to upgrade their car. I had a 2013 w204 C250 Coupe in black that I loved 😍, but traded it in January 2020 on a new w205. I live in an apartment with a shared parking garage so I have nowhere to work on a car. And my new car came with free servicing for 3 years so... but had I been in a position to keep my 43,000 mile w204 I know that your channel would have kept my car running and looking it’s best! I’ll keep watching though. Your videos are fun and informative too. Thank you.

I wonder if this would work on the 220 diesel engined cars? Although the intercoolers will probably be different. the intercooler looks good and l prefer that look but mighty car mods tested the theory that a black painted intercooler performed better than an unpainted one. Also those silicone hoses dont expand as much under boost as standard ones do, so boost pressure is not wasted by being used on bloating out the hoses. love how your car looks!

I started looking into bigger intercooler for my C204 and I have 1.6 turbo Mercedes with quad tip straight piped exhaust and it sounds amazing!

How do i get more power for my c220 w204 2012? I did the remap and removed the mufflers and add quad tips. Should i look for a induction kit and a intercooler, if yes, what kind of to gain extra power?

you probably done for stage 1. stage 2 usually requires an intercooler and air intake change as well as straight piping the exhaust

There was residual oil in the out pipe of your old intercooler. This is symptomatic if worn turbo seals. The main causes of turbo seal wear are stop start button DO NOT USE IT!!! As it’s t dramatically shortens the turbos life!!! Also cold starting and instant boosting!! Let the engine idle for 35 seconds before reving it! This will ensure the turbos hydrostatic bearing is properly lubricated. Then when switching off the car let the engine get idle for 10 seconds before shut down! This makes sure the turbine is spinning at the lowest RPM possible which again on shutdown stops bearing and seal wear!! I would strongly suggest you get the turbo serviced before it’s done many more miles! As if it fails the engine will run on the turbo oil feed and surge till it eats itself! I’ve seen it happen! And there’s NOTHING left of the engine salvageable!! That’s NOTHING!!! KZread turbo fubar! Sorry for being a right doom merchant! It’s in my intolerable nature I’ve been told!! Lol I’m ready to do this mod soon I’ve picked out a nice replacement intercooler! Thanks for the vid man!!!

Have you put the car on a dyno yet to show some before and after numbers? I had swapped out the TMIC on my WRX for a FMIC and I definitely loss low end torque due to the loss of pressure to the turbo and the increase of turbo lag. Until I went fast enough for the larger intercooler to get enough pressure, I regretted doing it for a daily driver since I loss power on the lower end. Power at the mid and upper end were a beast though and helped press more air into the turbo (turbo boost cranked up to 16.7psi).

it's the OEM C250 sport front bumper with an aftermarket carbon fiber splitter. There's a video of it on my youtube channel.

It fits all c250 with the m271-evo engine.

Mine has water in air charger cooler system is what the mechanics are saying,I drove through water flood on Dallas TX it was deep and didn't see it it was black in the dark my Mercedes-Benz did fine till I started it 5hrs later had check engine light and my engine was shaking when I stopped but if I drive it drove fine am I been told the right diagnosis? 4:27

Not sure. I’m not a certified mechanic and I don’t know your cars condition. Could be many factors or issues with your car if you can get water into your stock intercooler. This video is about my aftermarket intercooler. That’s all I can speak to if you have a question on it.

Hello Flexx! got my c250 just remap stage 1 and gearbox, now i have 250hp, planning to go for this intercooler +40hp...do i need to remap ecu after install this intercooler?

No. You only need a tune if you are adding in tons of more volume of air from the turbo or if you are adding more fuel into the system. You don’t need a tune when you are just cooling down the air.

One question bro, didn't u get any turbo lag or lag in throttle due to bigger size inter-cooler? Usually people say if you have a "bigger size cooler you get a lag" so I am kind of curious here. I do get where you said it pull at 40, 50, 60 since the bigger inter-cooler is doing it's job with cooling but I am talking about when or at lower rpm's throttle/turbo lag.

There’s a sweet spot with increased intercooler size that doesn’t affect throttle/turbo. I didn’t experience any increase lag. Usually when you go really really big for an intercooler, then there’s a lag cause there’s to much area for air to travel before it goes into the throttle body and into the engine. I didn’t experience anything negative for this incooler.

No issues on my c250. Lower RPM stayed the same especially when I have a TT pedal tune that already helps with throttle lag. I will be installing the smaller of the 2 new intercooler from TT for the w205. The larger one is more for cars running a more aggressive tune. I’m running a stock tune so the smaller of the 2 intercooler will again be in the sweet spot. I could probably get away with the larger intercooler but I don’t wanna risk it. Doing the removal and install is a lot of work and I don’t want to have to do it twice or 3 times if the larger one shows any negative effects with the stock tune. I don’t race so I don’t wanna run an aggressive tune.

You need to ask tornado tuning, the company who makes it. There’s no c200 models in the US so I don’t know your car and it’s design.

@@TheFlexxGarage Any ideas on the science behind it? My understanding when you change the amount of air the car is getting fuel needs to be remapped to match the air fuel ratio. I know cars can auto adjust; my previous education dictates the car has limits :) anything you could share on this before I embark on the journey you laid out I'd be greatful!

An Intercooler doesn’t change the volume. It just makes it colder. And your car has sensors to accommodate the denser air. It’s the same as the car operating in super cold temps. The car can handle cold air. Unless you do something bigger like changing how the turbo works, then you’re playing with volume and pressure and will need a remap.

Yes. The car pulls harder on the highway at higher rpms cause the air stays cooler before mixing with fuel to combust.

I always thought intercoolers didn’t add hp it kept your motor from losing hp, and essentially the only cars that need upgraded intercoolers are high hp cars that run much hotter, a c250 makes little to no power I feel like an aftermarket intercoolers wouldn’t make much of a different if any

Well that can’t be more wrong. It’s not about cooling down a hot engine. It’s about cooling down the air. Colder air is dense and makes more boom and makes more power. Doesn’t matter if a car barely makes power. If you pump colder air into the engine, it will make more power. It’s science.

You are right. The intercooler only cools the air that was heated while passing through the turbo. Any turbo car could benefit possibly from a larger intercooler depending on the size of the turbo. A larger intercooler will not add horsepower without also increasing boost and tuning the computer. The reason for this is because the stock turbo now has to compress the air in a larger space (larger intercooler) which results in turbo lag. While your intake temps will stay more consistent and be less affected so much from heat soak the larger intercooler alone is not going to drop intake temps so drastically that you will notice any difference while driving. Ask anyone who has experience tuning forced induction engines and they will tell you that an intercooler alone is not going to make even one more horsepower to the engine.
