You're a genius, thank you! I spent a good few hours yesterday trying everything to install an android app on my newly purchased Lenovo Duet 5 tablet/chromebook. I loved everything about that little machine, except that I couldn't get this piano app installed. I was able to turn on the chrome OS developer mode eventually, which itself was quite some task as the Duet is not exactly a chromebook even though it runs on chrome OS. I was able to install the app, but as soon as I turned off the developer mode, the tablet reset itself and erased everything. Frustrated as hell, but very lucky to run into your video and now I have the piano app installed and running smoothly! This will be my go to method going forward to install android apps on the Duet 5.

Super thank you. I have a question about Google Home on Chromebook. If i click on automations to modify/create an automation, it says I need to install Google app. It forward me automatically to the Play Store, but this Google app is not compatible with Chromebook, which is stupid as I use a Google product. So my question is: If I use your method to install the required Google app, will it than be possible to edit automations in Google Home on that Chromebook?

you have to stay in ADB mode. Unfortunately, if you want to go to the normal version of ChromeOS you have to format your device. So the main advantage in this ADB mode is that you dont need to swicth to buggy developer mode to install Android Apps outside of Playstore!

Although the Linux environment installed and the terminal now works, I don't have 'Develop Android Apps' option in my settings.

As I know, you have to manually Update it, that means download the latests .apk and install it!

0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 14 not upgraded. once it is showing this once i entered install adb

It looks like it is already been installed.

'Develop Android Apps' (Linux option) NEVER appears unless you already have the Play Store installed.

I would recommend to repeat the steps one by one. Pay attention on where I used ''sudo'' and where I didnt.
