Install ALEKO AR1450 Sliding Gate Opener with Gear Rack

This video is part of my "DIY cantilever sliding gate" series. It demonstrates the installation of the ALEKO AR1450 gate opener to drive my cantilever sliding gate. Details including parts assembly, concrete pouring, wiring and gear rack mounting are covered in this video.
It turned out the ALEKO AR1450 gate opener is very easy to install, requiring almost zero efforts to configure the wiring or such. This product is ready to go out of box.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to produce your gate videos. I didn't want to spend 4k for a gate and operator. I currently have a tubular cattle gate that spans 16' across my driveway that I installed last year. It swings and we are tired of getting out of the car to open and close it. I have been looking for away to convert to a slider gate because of snow. The gate doesn't swing easily in snow so slicing through it will be much easier and doesn't tank up as much room. I look forward to obtaining the parts and get it done!Thanks

    Your magnetic stops are in the opposite location specified in the instruction manual and other KZread videos of the AR1450. They show the lower bracket used for the open and the higher bracket used for the closed position.

    Great observation! But I don't think it's wrong since it's been working for over five years. There is simply no absolute "open" or "close" from the motor's point of view. All it does is simply as this: turns -> senses magnetism -> reverses -> senses magnetism -> turns and repeat. If you look back into my video, and image if my drive way was on the opposite side. Then the "open" becomes "close" and "close" become "open." If you just need the motor to open/close the gate. It works either way. However, you are not wrong. If advanced function is needed, e.g. photoelectric beam or auto-reverse, the motor will need to be aware if it's in the process of "opening" or "closing". In that case, the height of magnetic stops matter.

    You need more amps on your welder. Easier to get weld started with more amps. Place rod more on the thicker work piece rather than the thin bracket

    +Danny Haehae I had a similar comment in mind, but the bracket is quite thin, so perhaps better to struggle initiating the arc than to struggle later filling holes burnt due to excess amps. On the subject of initiating the arc, my old West Indian instructor had thoughts on that... There are two ways to get started... "poke it, or stroke it" poking wasn't working terribly well, so try the other way. Looks a good project, though.

    Thanks for the video. I purchased an Aleko AC1400 from the manufacturer in Washington state. Biggest mistake of 2020. The instructions could have been more useful in braille. I see that you installed the gate on the right side. We had to install ours on the left, which reverses the open and close features. We tried to install the child safety sensors and since the opener is on the left side the sensor would act in reverse and close when triggered (sensor interrupted) instead of opening. Is there a way to program the opener to act accordingly? I know I can't change the setting of the sensor and if I don't correct this I would not pass inspection. Can anyone advise?

  • @XueMingYu

    @XueMingYu

    4 жыл бұрын

    No bigger mistake for 2020...the opener and sensor are designed for general purpose, they definitely could be configured for your installation. The opener motor basically does only one thing: rotate in one direction - stop - rotate in reverse direction. The "stop" is triggered by either the remote, or the magnets, or the safety sensor. There is no "open" or "close" from the motor's view of point. If you go back to my video, and image I remove all my fences on the right side of the motor and install them back to the left side. I can still "close" and "open" it.
