I purchased the FT2 7 wks ago. I use it DAILY and as a result have seen incredible changes in my body. No more wasting time driving to the gym and then waiting for others to get my chance on the functional trainer and smith machine. If you are serious about buying an extremely high quality machine with max versatility, efficiency and smoothness.... this is it. The bench and leg attachment are also of the highest quality. Definitely recommend buying adjustable dumbells like "The Block" as well. I know its expensive but I really think its worth every penny. And NO, I Don't know any body at Inspire fitness, I just feel a product this good deserves to be recognized and hope it helps others;)

This trainer is awesome. Neat footprint compared to other trainers, without having a long smith machine bar sticking out at each side. No weight plates sticking out, no peg bands sticking out. You can even leg press without having to have a huge heavy foot plate taking up space. The only disadvantages are no core trainer attachment and jammer arms. Expensive but who cares its worth it. No more gym membership fees, and this trainer with last for life.

Rick's in fairly good shape for a man his age. :) Better than a lot of guys half his age. Kudos. Comment. Some exercises should only be done with free-weights. Because as we get tired our form will go as we fight the cables. Or even before we're tired. Always better to stick with free-weights for exercises designed for FW which require balance (of the weight). But the cross cable machines are invaluable. A must for any good workout...but doing only exercises originally designed for the cable machines..

For the people thinking of getting one, the only thing that sucks is the SQUAT BAR.... you have to go down, lock in place, then start your squat, when you finish your reps, you have to go back down, lock the bar in the locking mechanism, and bright it back up, lock it in place, then you step out... it kills your workout, specially if you train to failure, you really need to leave some energy for the end to be able to go down, lock, bring up, blah blah blah... I am not used to it, I would get the other machine(SCS SMITH CAGE SYSTEM) with the same cables but the squat bar is more of a traditional smith machine, uses free weights but no annoying locking mechanism, TRY DOING A SQUAT ON BOTH OF THESE BEFORE YOU BUY..... you'll see what I mean...both machines are the same price, yea the FT2 looks prettier but just do a squat and you'll see lol

Hi Anatoli, the resistance ratio on the red smith bar is 2:1, which means you are lifting half of what you have pinned on the weight stacks. If you're interested, there is a weight stack upgrade for the FT2: inspirefitness.com/product/weight-stack-upgrade/

If there was a bit cheaper option that didnt have the squat bar I'd probably buy this. I have a prospot that has 8 points to hook up at pullies, it's great. Looking to do a commercial gym and I'd like the 8 points for cables without trying to get squat bars on there, it would just confuse people and probably never get used while adding to cost. Just my thoughts.

If I lock 20lbs on each side and pull on the cables, is 20 lbs of pressure required to lift the 20lbs on each side? Please be patient with me, but it looks like there is a single pulley on top of each weight stack. That doesn't make sense to me. Why install 150lbs of weight for the purpose of increasing strength by lifting it, only to turn around and cut its lift difficulty in half by attaching a hoist to it? Doesn't that kind of defeat the entire purpose of lifting weights? That means I only have 75 lbs accessible to each cable, or 100lbs if I get the extra weights. I guess what I'm asking is, what was the logic behind that decision? It had to be deliberate and for a purpose that "outweighed" losing 50% of the machine's potential.

Row and Pulldown no good unless you can hold the legs down via pads. Without that you can't use heavy enough weight to really get a decent workout and if you try to the weight will pull you forward. This should have been considered.

It was. There is a component you can insert (upside down) to brace feet for row. It comes with the machine. For Lat Pulls, lower the smith bar to the top of your legs and lock in to place. It allows you to lift heavy without pulling yourself up. Sometimes you have to get a little creative.

$5000? I can do most of these exercises with a set of various tension resistance bands that cost well under $100. Using these bands in tandem creates as much resistance as the weight stacks featured in this video. Plus, when I am finished my workout, the “equipment” can be stored on a hook behind a door, in a closet or in a drawer.

Yes and you can drive a scooter or a Mercedes - both can be viable transport but that doesn't make them the same thing.
