This movie 100%pulled me out of a seriously suicidal depression when absolutely nothing else would and gave me hope to carry on when there was no hope! This movie is the most beautiful, profound, and spirituality inspiring event that has ever happened to me since birth. I'm 100% convinced there will never be anything else that will be a more powerful and life altering blessing. Thank you Aron Ralston and James Franco! This comes from Michael Robert Casey. Brother of Tricia Casey. Oh yeah, ive seen this movie around 127 times since discovering it back in 2012! What does that tell you?

This is very inspiring, depression is also very tough, it sometimes feels like I need to chop off my brain in order to survive because my brain is what's slowly decaying while still attached to me. I am glad and thankful that you found comfort and hope while watching this movie, I now definitely need to find a way to watch it!

What makes this even more crazy is the fact that he has a son now, blonde hair blue eyes. This man was touched by the Lord.

I recently watched a infographic show about him and the narrator said that this man is not religious but ultimately pray to God for help. And God did, God may not came down from heaven and saved him but God gave him some sort of vision in order to regain his will to live cause during that time, Aron was already accepting his fate that he would die there but because of his vision about having a son, he ragain his will and decides to cut off his arm to leave. God really helps people who are in need but it's up to us to listen and work for it.

@@alfredocubelo1109 So God trapped his arm between a boulder for 6 days, put him through unnerving pain, before forcing him to snap both bones in his forearm and cut through skin, arteries, and nerves to escape from utter death. But no, he's recognized for "giving him the vision." I suppose you may argue it was to make him a better person. And yet he was arrested for a domestic violence charge in 2013, let alone has he become a man of God. He never had a "vision of having a son." At no point did he mention that, but he does mention that he knew from the very start he would have to amputate himself. So he sure as hell didn't get some evangelical sign to chop his arm off. Believe what you want, but your thought process is logically flawed.

@Tourene He wasn't being reckless. Hikers use chockstones to get from one part to another. Like a huge stepping stone. He checked the chockstone the way you're supposed to to make sure it was stable. Then, a very rare thing happened: he stepped upon it, it was fine, it didn't move. Then he lowered his body and as he was about to release his grip on the edge, it suddenly broke loose. That is extremely RARE. That is why he was so shocked that it happened. Apparently you are not aware of how experienced Aron is in this sport. He had already established himself as a top mountaineer and canyon hiker, and was at the highest level of skill. BUT GUESS WHAT? FREAKISH ACCIDENTS HAPPEN. Aron is an amazing survivor. Do you know how very brave and courageous he was? He STAYED ALIVE for 127 hours! Rationed his water by taking sips per a schedule he made. Blacking out, freezing at night, blazing hot during the day, stuck in one position. He even made a "seat" out of his harness. You know nothing about this highly skilled and talented man. Look up how many mountains he has successfully climbed, and he had already reached every goal he set. Even after the accident, he resumed mountaineering and canyon hiking, only this time he had the disadvantage of having a prosthetic arm. But that didn't stop him. You know what was reckless? YOUR IGNORANT COMMENTS. Fuck off you ill-knowledged and judgemental beast. Btw, YOU ARE THE FOOL.
