    We are on our way to BG to explore and house hunt. Just booked a week at Serendipity homestead. Their holiday cottage looks wonderful. Got to agree with what another person wrote. I used to be a lipbalm fiend. Always had chapped lips. Decided to stop using it and I hardly ever get chapped lips now. Usually only happens if I have been in a house with central heating. Hope all is going well with the visa. 🤞🙏

    I moved over here to do the same thing. Was hoping to have kept my job in the UK, long story short that didn't happen. Started rescuing and fostering dogs, due to funds and falling in love when I volunteer at the dog shelter this will be my new pathway. Still get to rent out my annex but would have loved an hands on experience for myself and my guests. Big learning curve moving here, been prepping the garden for veggies for the 1st time ever. Fingers crossed we get to eat from the garden this year. Thank God for KZread and all the good advice and tips. All the best.

    The rental cottage really feels like a mix of bulgarian and english style of cottage. The owners really made it their own while keeping the original. I will say I think this life style just might be the future of Europe. Using all your savings and moving to spend your pension in another more affordable (and warmer)for housing country. While grocery prices are the same whats the point of higher salary and pension when it all goes to the bank to pay off mortgage that if does not work out you lose everything and lasts a lifetime. Why lose sleep over debt when you can own a land in another country for much less right away.Julianne and John are very admirable. Hope things out for you like it did for them they are very lovely people.

    Such an interesting story and lovely couple indeed. Why did you have issues with your visa? Hopefully you will get there. There is an old Bulgarian saying: капка по капка - вир, вир по вир - язовир - kapka po kapka vir, vir po vir yazovir. meaning that drop by drop turn into a pool and a pool turns into a dam. In other words it takes an effort in life to achieve our goals even with small passes. Greetings from Sofia, the weather was crazy here too, it was 19ºC and suddenly -2ºC. Even Viitosha mounrain was covered in light snow.

    Laura the pig fat makes tallow which is good but ….. the more you put lip balm on the dryer your lips will be ‘cos it stops the natural production of oils in the lips. Try to not put anything on for a while (difficult I know) but it works. Your lips will recover and you won’t need the gunk ❤❤🇬🇧🇬🇧

    WHO told you that our lips produce oil??? Absolutely not true! Lips do not have oil glands! Sorry--but you are the 1st person I've ever heard of that thought "lips have oil glands"! "Myth #1: Lips don’t need any lip care at all This myth is easy to disprove as the lips do not have any sebaceous or sweat glands of their own. This means they cannot produce their own protective oil. Lip care protects the lips against environmental influences such as cold and heat, while providing moisture. When you apply lip care, you prevent your lips from drying out, leaving them feeling fresh and smooth and looking great too. "

  • @dragonfly9209

    @dragonfly9209

    2 ай бұрын

    @@NewBulgarians No, it doesn't make sense! The information you read from Linda (above) is wrong. Ridiculously wrong. Google it! Lips do NOT produce any natural oils--because--- there are NO oil glands (or sweat glands) in the lips. Therefore nothing can interfere with "oil production" of the lips because there are no oil glands to make oil production! So yes...lips are going to dry out from wind, weather, etc.. and WILL get chapped. And WILL need help. It's a good thing we don't have oil glands in the lips. Teenagers could then get pimples all over their lips as well as the rest of their face. Oily lips--what yucky thought.
