Inspector Wexford - The Best Man To Die

Ойын-сауық

As yet, apart from a VHS release, these early Inspector Wexford stories aren't available on general release. Hopefully, some day a box set will be released for us all to enjoy. When if it does, I will paste a link in the description.
From the VHS back cover:
A young man is murdered on the eve of his best friend's wedding. A young woman is found dead at the scene of a fatal road accident in which a wealthy businessman is also killed. It is a puzzle for Detective Chief Inspector Reg Wexford and his colleague D.I. Burden, who discover a possible connection between the deaths as they unearth a tangled tale of adultery, blackmail and greed.
Personal problems for both detectives blight their lives at a time when they would prefer to concentrate on their investigations. One killer on the loose or two? That is the question they first need to have answered before they can make their arrest.

The practice of not telling women their medical information and diagnosis, but telling the husband instead has thankfully gone down in the depths of mysogeny. My cousin died of uterine cancer not knowing what was wrong with her because doctors couldn't bring themselves to say the word "uterus" to a woman.

I’m a Mexican-American born in Chicago (both of my parents were born in Mexico) who has watched and loved British mystery programs for more than forty years. Sometimes it’s a little hard for me to make out what’s being said because of some thick British accents, so I usually have the closed captions so I can understand what’s going on. Well, I’ll have you know that there have been many times that I’ve understood what was said and the cc got it wrong!! 😊

I have been saying this for years, and as a teacher, believe me, I’ve had plenty of reason to continue to think so. Why not? You need a license to drive a car, get married, and open a store. Rearing children is difficult and none of us is born knowing how to do it. There are many classes that are available, child development being the most important. Not too difficult to teach in high school, as part of the science curriculum, but no, it seems more important to to Mars.

I wish I’d found your channel earlier, as I’ve watched several Rendells today, and quality was lacking throughout. I’m commenting now because I know the books, have already enjoyed the excellent scripts and acting, so, now I know I can look forward to two more hours of good clear vid, I’m settling down for the night. I am really appreciative of your time and effort uploading this, as well as, I assume, your efforts in ‘cleaning up’ video, or sourcing high quality. If you are an real actor or actress you knew how to shed real tears. No one knew how to cry at all, and I saw that so many times

Thank you, another good one! Diane Keen is a beautiful woman, always surprises me that she didn’t become more famous in films not just for her looks but for acting talent.

I admire you for being able to watch a video while sewing! :-) How do you manage? Don't you stick the needle in your finger, or sew two sleeves together, or anything like that?
