I feel the same way about inertia through the shadows or all of winters gate.

One of the best lead-offs in melodic death metal that will ever exist I will always get goosebumps when I listen to the outro intro just every single time

the absolute raw emotion these dudes put into their music is both awesome and fearsome

The Primeval Dark and While We Sleep are two of my favorite tracks off Shadows of the Dying Sun. They flow together so perfectly and they are truly beautiful songs.

I've been to 3 of their concerts and f... I must say they are on a different level, admiration at the creativity in writing lyrics and the melody is up to the sky, so grateful that I have discovered them years ago and still with them till now.

I have seen them end of last year. I have seen soooo many bands but that was the first time i finally had the chance to see them. Never would i have expected that they are now in my top 3 best concerts i have ever seen and i have seen ALOT of bands. Went with two friends who never heard them and they were awstruck aswell. So for those who haven't: SEE THEM WHEN U HAVE THE CHANCE. Don't hesitate

Insomnium was the first group I went to see at a concert. And this song triggered my first moshpit. Thanks a lot Insomnium, for creating such masterpieces.

@@ancient_oak Yes, It's elegant and haunting at the same time. Even though it's almost more like an intro to the album it's one of my favorite Insomnium songs.

Once a year I listen to this and to this day goosebumps every single fucking time it’s too melodic and emotional to not feel that intensity of these two songs the intro into the sweet sweet melodies of while we sleep is to perfect it’s so magnificent and beautiful as a sequence of two beautiful fusions of music

That would be a good lyric, but the actual lyrics are pretty impactful as well. In the context of the song, the actual lyrics resonate well. The first few passages talking about what isn't there any more, regretting not making more of that time while it lasted, and with the distance between the present and the moments that are yearned for growing further with each sleep. The fleeting moments must slow down so they can continue to exist in remembrance..To catch them as if to grab hold and relive them again.. That's how I interpret it anyways, so while "cherish" would hit hard, to cherish is to hold dear, so it would suggest that the time is gone and he loves it for what it was, but is not yearning for that reconnection. I think the other lyrics would need to be a bit different to have it resonate as well. Great song and lyrics either way.

Was too but then got depression (for other reasons lol) and it triggered me very much. When I finally was able to return to it I was very happy

I feel it's a love hate relationship, the intro song just makes the song following it so much better because of the build up, but then sometimes the intro song is like 30 seconds, and it would sound dumb for it to come on, only to have the song following it be something else. (if you're listening to music on random)
