Insight Interview: Sacramento mother reflects on family’s time trapped in Afghanistan

After the Fall of US-backed government in Afghanistan in August, dozens of Sacramento-area families were stuck in the country. Sacramento's Afghan community is among the largest in the U.S.
One such family, including three students in the Sacramento City Unified School Disrtict, was recently able to return to Sacramento. In the months they were stuck in Afghanistan, Elthel I Baker Elementary Principal Nate McGill communicated with the family and worked to help bring them home.
Raihan, Faizan and Pakiza are in 1st, 3rd and 4th grade. Their first day at school was last week. CapRadio Insight Host Vicki Gonzalez spoke at length with their mother Huma, father Rahmatullah and Principal Nate McGill.
