The doctors advised everyone to stay at home trying not to spread the disease even more. If it's true that they don't know much about the virus or how deadly it is they are trying to reduce the infected people as much as possible until a vaccine is developed or if the virus is deadly, all the infected people,...well,...die.

A friend of mine went to Wuhan in December to visit his family untill Chinese New Year celebration. He luckily got out on the last day before Wuhan was locked up. Now he is probably stuck in Beijing.

Believe me I'm panicked I can't hold it when everyone around me is getting it. People are making me scared more than the virus itself because they dont do what's necessary and they act as its joke but its not even my city became the ghost city today. The bad act of people made the government to force us to stay at home for 48 hours or they will arrest us if they saw us in any street. God bless them for such act because many people are very careless and naive and they are the real source of spreading the virus more than the virus itself in our communities.

People are just staying home. I am a Chinese living overseas from a tier 4 city in east part of China. When I am chatting with my friends and relatives, I am very surprised on their effort put in: everyone is staying home though our city has no confirmed case yet. This period used to be the most busy time to visit relatives / friends. One of my cousin who is running a restaurant shut down it to avoid public gathering before any government notice (I used to think this guy is money driven...) Now everyone is visiting virtually and play poke games online together LOL. I only concern that maybe they will be used to meet virtually and start to have less human touch after this.... Stay safe everyone!

This virus is really bringing out the racism in some people, jesus. Most people in China don't eat dogs and nowadays they're just like regular pets. The only people who do are the elderly generation that grew up during the starvation that was China's industrialization.

lrose not in this case. Wuhan is actually one of the areas that does have a history of consuming dogs. And the Wuhan market where this virus originated literally sells dog meat. And with a city of millions cut off from sufficient supplies and with most markets closed there is an almost certainty stray dogs will be consumed.

People say that those that pay attention to SCIFI films are silly because it's fiction, but people like us know that there is so much truth to these films.
