You Are mistaken. These chests do not need frequent repair but when they do they are among the easiest to repair as you don’t need to take the organ apart to fix the issue. These chest have stood the time and many are over 100 years old with only minor repairs and tuneups.
That is an Austin windchest. The mechanism needed troubleshooting so frequently that a walk-in windchest was designed for the purpose. Later Austin windchests simply had a glass panel that could be moved to the most likely location of trouble.
