Inside the U.S. Navy's Cutting-Edge Drone Boat Tech

Drone boats appear to be on the cusp of a revolution.
The U.S. Navy’s Task Force 59 has been pairing cutting-edge unmanned surface vehicles with artificial intelligence to expand the military’s eyes and ears in the Middle East. Now, similar efforts will be rolled out in the Pacific and Central and South America.
The military’s objective is to leverage machine learning to detect and anticipate threats before they occur. Experts say the U.S. is currently the leader in this field, but competitors like China and Russia are racing to catch up.
I traveled to Manama, Bahrain to see the high-tech drones in action and speak to officials about how they’re preparing for a future with robots in the world’s waters.

Peter Zeihan recently made some bold claims in his newly released book on the aspect of navy power. He speculates the USA would slowly loose its power to patrol sea lanes which will inherently lead to an uprise in piracy. This video just proves the opposite is possible. With a low cost fleet of unmanned drones the whole fleetcarrier program might soon retire or at least downscale.

The problem here in the US is that we continue failing to safeguard US technology and programs. Somehow the CCP continues managing to get its hands on critical US military/civilian tech. The US spends billions and years developing the best systems possible just to have taken via espionage. Take for example the F-117, first used in 1981 in combat ops and not shared to the public until 1988. Nothing in the U.S. arsenal is shared before its matured to be combat effective. America doesn't play all their cards at once, no nation does. Night vision and thermal integration has been here for awhile, and yet just been released to public knowledge just recently.
