I never followed Teo in the amateurs but I watched his first fight on Mexican TV and I been a fan ever since. Regardless of his or his father's antics the kid has talent.

Facts I met him at Duane Reade on Avenue U right after he beat Richard Commey. No entourage or anything just a regular dude in the line waiting to by groceries with his wife at the time. He’s as humble as he says he is. Stepped out of the line to take a picture with me too no questions asked, true peoples champ.

Here’s a fact Lomachenko got elevated to wbc franchise meaning it’s the super belt. Devin Haney got the regular version of the wbc belt and Teo beat Lomachenko for wbc franchise which again is a higher version of the regular wbc and ESPN marketed as an undisputed event let’s stop the cap

Devin was elevated from interim to full WBC champion because Lomachenko vacated the WBC belt and the WBC created the Franchise belt for him so he didn't have to fight his mandatory which was Devin. So Teo inherited the Franchise WBC belt when he beat Loma and none of the other sanctioning bodies recognised the belt so it couldn't be unified. The Franchise belt disappeared after Haney unified the real WBC belt against Kambosos titles.

Top Rank offered him 3 opponents & he said NO to all of them because he insisted on Claggett a guy that has 7 L’s & 2 draws 😝.
