Oregon doesn’t have any professional football teams so the Ducks have a massive following here and it’s also where Nike started so they get pretty generous funding from them 👌🏼😂 the basketball arena and track stadium are also top of the line, state of the art facilities.

Everyone wants in the country United States to eliminate or lower student debt with tax dollar money which is just going to hurt us in the long run how about we put a cap on tuition for these colleges this is what happens when you allow them to raise their tuition for no reason and spend money on programs and things that are not needed and serve no purpose in helping the community

Nike Founder Phil Knight is an Alumnus of Oregon , hence the massive Nike influence and financial contributions.

In your other video you guys were talking about Bama's relationship with Nike, but Oregon is the OG nike school. The nike founder and owner is an Oregon alum and has donated hundreds of millions of dollars to the school.

I'm from Eugene Or, and I was fortunate enough to be in the recruiting process back in 06'. I didn't end up playing for them, but I definitely should have. They'd let us go down in the locker room with the coaches and players so they could show off how friggin cool the facilities were then we'd run out with the players at the beginning of the game. Our seats were sit on the 50 yard line right behind the players, best seats in the stadium. Free tickets to every home game. I remember thinking at 16yo that it was the coolest sports facility that I'd ever seen.. now all these years later and I can confirm that it really is. Phil Knight (the founder of Nike) is Duck himself, and the school is the foundation of his dynasty. So he spares no expense. They told us that each of the Ducks helmets cost $5000 each to paint, and they get repainted 2-3 times a season back then. Pure class

Awesome! It’s always exciting to see the ducks play. My best experience was at the ‘73 3A State Tourny at Mac Court, Ron Lee, a Duck basketball GREAT, came in and sat down and we watched a bunch of the high school game. Lee was a great guy and terrific basketball player, and had such a nice fro...then!

Oregon Ducks are very well known. They're known as the fashionistas of college football. Nike's founder is from Oregon, that's why Nike fashion has a heavy emphasis on them

The Ducks have only sporadically been nationally relevant, but they have one of the wealthiest backers in the country and have grown their brand significantly over the last 15 years. They’re maybe on the B tier as far as national programs go, but they’re one of the better programs on the west coast. So regionally they’re very important.

@@brettpenning agree. The branding for them is extremely attractive, which gets them that first look that they might not have otherwise gotten. Sometimes just getting the recruit through the door that first time is all it takes.

The Oregon Ducks vs Oregon State Beavers civil war game is one of the bigger events in Oregon each year. Regularly a great game. The pros certainly are not slackers, but college players seem to have that extra bit of drive trying to get into the pros. Oregon also lacks a pro football team, so many either watch college or root for Seattle Seahawks.

The NFL is different, in the sense, that the owner's share profits. So even the smaller market's can compete. They all have world class facilities.

Yeah and there's a salary cap so no team can spend more than any other. (for players and staff at least) The stadiums however are almost always paid for with local tax payers money. If not in full, at least partially. Billionaires always find a way to spend other people's money...

But the Bengals went all these years without an indoor practice facility, practicing under an overpass, lol. But I've heard they may be finally building one since this past year's success, and Pat McAfee's constant jokes on them for being the only team without one.

That’s not true. Bucs had a crap facility for the longest. They didn’t get an upgrade until years after they first super bowl. And they just got an indoor practice space a few years ago.

Oregon is a unique football program in that they are not a traditional powerhouse, but with the help of Nike money, smart branding efforts, and some very successful players and coaches, has built themselves from practically nothing in the 1980s into a national brand today. They're famous for flashy uniforms that change every game which became popular with recruits (unlike traditional schools with uniforms designs that are many decades old). And from 2009-2012 under coach Chip Kelly, they became famous for offensive innovation and scoring tons of touchdowns. They made it to two national championship games in 2011 and 2015, but have not won one yet.

Oregon has actually done a remodel since this video came out a couple years ago that is pretty impressive

Awesome video. I could watch those all day. NFL facilities are all also top notch as you could imagine. The Ducks have a solid football program for sure. May have never heard of them because of their conference. The teams in the northwest don’t get enough love.

They don't have the history of some of the other big names but they rose up and had several championship caliber seasons. They really became known for being funded by the owner of Nike so there facilities and uniforms are out of this world

The Oregon Ducks were once called as the Webbed Foots, which evolved to being the Ducks. As an Oregon Alum, you learn a bit of the schools history. The Mighty Ducks took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota - such a great hockey movie!

Phil Knight, the founder of Nike, went to Oregon. If you listen at the beginning the guy says "we get to fly around with Mr. Knight.

I’m by no means a doctor either, but when i played my team doctor explained to me that the elevated legs for resting to help relieve lactic acid buildup in muscles.

To echo what other commenters have probably already said, Oregon is well known for their track & field program. I don't know much about how their football team has fared over the years, but it is where Nike was founded so the equipment is likely second to none.

Oregon's football team was traditionally pretty terrible but started to gain ground during the Mike Belotti era (c.1995-2008) who led the team to a 116-55 W/L record during his tenure before passing the torch to Chip Kelly(c.2009-2012) who led the Ducks to top tier status with his high octane offense resulting in a 46-7 record and our first ever national title game (Micheal Dyer was down, grrr) during his tenure. He was replaced by Mark Helfrich who did well while he still had the talent that Kelly had put together, even taking Oregon to another national title game, this one the first ever in the college football playoff(CFP) era, but again fell short of a natty. Oregon dropped off a bit for the next couple of years and Helfrich was let go after an abysmal 4-8 season, being replaced by Willie Taggart who left after a single year and was replaced by OC Mario Cristobal after the players rallied for him to get the job and he led Oregon to a 35-13 record over the next 4 years including another Rose Bowl win but never made it back to the playoffs. It's now headed by first year head coach Dan Lanning who's coming off his own National title win as the DC of Georgia. Tl;Dr, Oregon football went from historical bottom feeders to king of the Pac-12 North and national title contender over the last 20 years and hasn't shown any sign of slowing down any time soon. Go Ducks!

Great video guys love your work with sports, comedy and other subjects. Oregon was the first college to send me a recruiting letter as a freshman in high school. But my heart will always be USC GO TROJANS.

The Oregon Ducks got popular around the country when Chip Kelly was coach and they were winning a lot. This meant more televised games and people were tuning in to see which of their like 500+ uniforms they would wear. Lol

The co-founder of Nike (Phil Knight) was an Oregon alumn and at the time Reebok had a stranglehold over college football uniforms, and had a pretty stringent philosophy of keeping them "traditional" and "clean" looking for the image of their brand. Phil Knight said "Fuck it...we're gonna go crazy and we want input from the student athletes too!"

And just that decision alone, to go buck wild with the uniforms probably ended up making the university 9 figures. Just like Boise State got a lot of notoriety (and TV deals aka money) for their blue field when they started beating bigger schools.

This has a lot more stuff than alabamas facility. If you can make the locker area more narrow, lower all the ceilings, and get rid of the trophy area, you can fit in all sorts of stuff

Prior to this one, you guys did Alabama and Oklahoma, if I remember correctly. A lot of national titles between those two. The average made by NCAA football teams is $20M per year. The SEC & Big 10 teams average $35M. They can afford facilities.

Phil Knight the creator of Nike studied at the University of Oregon, he’s donated around 500 million to the University

The University of Oregon sports are subsidized by Nike hence their absurd amount of jersey combinations they use. By far, Oregon wears more jersey combos than all other schools.

Nike the company basically started from University of Oregon, this video is only a small fraction of what there facilities actually look like, track is probably nicest in the world.

Oregon's biggest advantage is their connection to Nike. Their founder Phil Knight is an alum of Oregon...that's why they get so much Nike money, equipment.

They really did not get into why Nike has a close relationship with the University. Bill Bowerman was a track and field coach at the university, and if I remember right he wanted to make running shoes that were a lot better then what was on the market. So he used a waffle iron on the rubber soles of the team's shoes. It worked so well that he got with Phil Knight and started selling these shoes. Too bad they did not show the outside of the stadium I think it is one of the most beautiful stadiums not only in University Football but one of the best looking in the world.

With more than a few exceptions, collegiate sport states have their two big public universities, perhaps a tech school, and couple of solid regional scools. Plus throw in the private schools. Using North Carolina as an example: University of North Carolina(big state) North Carolina State Univeristy(big state) Appalachian State (regional) Duke University (private) Wake Forrest (private) For the right person each school is a good fit. And while their sports programs aren't equal in talent, they all for the most part give student athletes an opportunity to get noticed by professional teams.

There are a couple of different Oregon (basketball i.e.) facility reviews that show more in depth with the light show, field/ courts and most exclusive Nike equipment you can get. They never wear equipment twice and they even have an oven to custom fit shoes on the spot. It's Nike home in Oregon so their style and fashion is second to none in any team of any sport.

Yall need to check out heyward field now. It's the world's foremost track venue also at oregon

Nike started at the University of Oregon. Nuf said. They probably have more uniform combinations than any sports club at any level anywhere in the world. They've played in 2 national championship games in the last 13 years. The rings on display are probably conference championship rings.

Clemson football has a fantastic football facility even has a slide inside to fit their family atmosphere.

In my experience, the professional facilities are fabulous.

10:30 The movie The Mighty Ducks was based in Minnesota. The NHL team The Mighty Ducks(now just Ducks) is based in Anaheim(LA area). Oregon football was kinda irrelevant for a long time until Phil Knight(Oregon graduate, founder and majority owner of Nike) started pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into the program to build these sort of top notch facilities.

Never really got the appeal of shoes or hats but definitely don't hate on it. As a guy who collects dice for D&D there's an intrinsic value that one can only put on it.

Oregon is the Man City of college football without the cheating. Phil Knight has poured his Nike money into the program to build a west coast and marketing powerhouse. No, they don't have the tradition of Bama or others, but their fans are amazing and more importantly the kid love that gear.

You should react to the video that he did for the United States military academy at West point for the army Black knights football team and their locker room set up Their uniforms are really unique as they celebrate the history of the service especially for army Navy game they go all out., And the Navy does the same thing with their football uniforms.

You want to know a big college football fan that has a great channel with great insight, look up Uncle Lou! He is a Georgia Bulldogs fan, but a college football fan as well. Also look up the Outlaw of College Football, and Pigskin Peete.

Good lord, this is why my students loans are sky-high. It's a game! Give them a ball and some pads and send them out to play. Lower the tuition.

I'd imagine most high end college programs do have better facilities than the NFL just because recruiting is just as much part of the game in college than going out there to play. Everything has to be top of the line and flashy to try and keep up with others and land the best players. I don't think any NFL team would have subpar facilities, but it's not something that really factors into free agents signing I wouldn't imagine so they don't have to be overly impressive, though certainly impressive when compared to most other athletic facilities.

The guy giving the tour here sounds like a transplant from the South.

Speaking as a fan of American football, the college sports landscape in my country is honestly obscene. Up until about two years ago, the players weren't even allowed to profit off their own names and likenesses. Meanwhile coaches took home big fat seven-figure checks while administrators built lavish Bond villain fortresses like this one with Nike money. It really makes no sense that the player development of the NFL and NBA are effectively subsidized through our high school and university systems, but that's the way it is. It's a historical accident, due entirely to the fact that unlike baseball and association football, basketball and American football developed at the amateur and academic level before they developed at the professional level.

That is not the loudest stadium in the country, I know university of Washington 200 miles north in Seattle is much louder

Oregon is the only institution that can license the duck from Disney, the ducks play in the pac 12 you have probably heard of USC or UCLA or Stanford, cal Berkeley these are all schools in Oregon division. Yes Alabama have more titles but Oregon has better facilities.

None, zero of what Mariota accomplished was ‘backup’ or second tier in ANY context! Mariota was the absolute best college football player when he played. Period! If I am incorrect, Marcus then fooled professional folks paid to not be fooled. He’s REALLY good!

There have been a number of Heisman winners that didn’t fit in the NFL scheme of things, and didn’t play past college. Players are no less the best player in college the year of their trophy.

The NFL facilities are at an even HIGHER level. There is no such thing as a "smaller" NFL team because all of the NFL teams share revenues. They are all wealthy beyond imagination. In colleges in the USA, there are also amazing facilities for other sports teams, such as baseball and basketball!

some Bama players have said that going to the NFL was a downgrade. Shaun Dion Hamilton was with the Lions and said Bama had better facilities across the board. yes they share revenue but if you have a rich owner you're going to have nicer stuff. you have to keep in mind that at the college level, teams are constantly trying to outdo each other with facilities because of recruiting. also, college teams will have upwards of 130 scholarship players + walkons so their facilities are designed to accomodate a much larger roster.

Nike could offer post high school scholarships for other than football players, if they wanted to help someone other than themselves...

Not the Browns, they have a super rich owner. The Bengals would he more accurate, but even they are soon to upgrade their facilities
