True! We need to get as angry over one innocent person killed as we do about multiple. It was two years ago the world got angry and protested over George Floyd. Maybe there needs to be a mass movement for the people killed in Uvalde? I don't know the answer, but inaction will result in this happening again.

They actually don't care about that. American politicians only care about their corporate money donors. Every decision by Congress can be directly traced to the Corporations who told them to do it. Even when they lose as a party, they still often hold jobs in the Senate, Congress, etc. in Washington. And they often get jobs at the very Corporations they are supposed to be regulating, after they leave Washington. the sooner Americans understand this, the sooner they can fix their giant problems. but, they wont. At this rate, American will turn into a right wing dictatorship by the year 2030. The Democrat's don't really do anything to help regular working Americans, the elderly, poor people, and sick people. and the Republicans' sure don't. they only cry about cheating while they do actual cheating. But because the Dems are so bad at being the "hey look at us we are not the GOP, vote for us, Trump bad"... ,,, while never doing anything to actually make people want to keep voting for them, that's why the Fascists' win. That's why Trump and other fascists' will keep winning, even while they cheat to help their chances. And eventually, there will be no more democracy. Not even a broken one like now.. and Americans will WISH they could have the chance to vote again, but they wont be allowed to any longer, but the Right wing fascit takeover will be complete. the only way this doesn't happen, is if people keep voting in the Left Wing populists in the Democratic primaries which has seen some good news on that front lately. While we try to figure out the answer to that legitimate question, we should also immediately make more difficult for kids that young, to get a hold of such a destructive weapon. @@erikmayer6529 People don't have easy access to fully automatic weapons in America.....In order to get a fully automatic weapon, you have to be granted a special permit, which usually takes 6 months, and then you go on a registration, plus you pay a tax...... This is what happens when people talk about guns, but don't have a clue what they are talking about. The discussion can't even begin, until people actually know what they are discussing.

Sitting here with tears in my eyes for those babies....Charles is absolutely correct, no matter what political party it is....it is for ALL the people! You have a job to do as President, etc....DO IT! Prayers for those affected by this tragedy personally, it is inexcusable.

This is beyond the power of government to do anything. My god, you are going to entrust this problem to the same people who can’t fix the baby food shortage? Just wait until this summer when the rolling blackouts begin and gas has to be rationed, like in third world countries. Yeah, government will fix it. 👍 👌 The REAL solution is for society to take a stand against wokeism and liberal indoctrination of children. All these school shooters have one thing in common: they come from generations of kids who WERE “educated” within the past 30-50 years of liberal social engineering, as opposed to PREVIOUS generations who WEREN’T, yet these massacres DIDN’T exist, even though these weapons WERE just as accessible. The guns issue is yet another DISTRACTION to get everyone not to notice that THAT is the real variable that has changed.

Tho him not understanding young people acting out..well it would only make sense with young impressionable kids. & schools were never “safe” just no mass shootings. The way the media props up the shootings it actually makes sense if you want to be infamous with maximum damage in a setting where you won’t likely be abused yourself. When I was a kid, I sat at school sometimes thinking: "Someone with bad intentions could walk through those doors and start shooting us if they wanted to because there's no real security here and we're vulnerable," but I always rationalized those thoughts with: "Yeah, but who wants to shoot us? We're just kids, what have we done to anybody?" Now...I know that anyone could be a target...anywhere, any time.

Children have always been killed. This has always happened. What is different is that it is so easy to get a gun now. We didn't used to make as many guns as we do now. The guns we used to make suck compared to guns today, and people on average were poorer and would only buy them if absolutely necessary or if they had a good amount of money to spend PLUS a gun shop nearby. Now there is one or tens or a hundred gun shops in any town or city where it is legal. All the guns that are obtained illegally were at one point built and sold legally. There is no illegal gun manufacturer (unless you count 3d printed, but those guns, again, absolutely suck). We decide every day to allow these weapons to be made and sold with very few limits. There will always be imperfect and fucked up people willing to use them for harming others, so the only option we have is to limit their proliferation.

Obama issued an assault rifle ban in his first term, but it was repealed by Trump in his first few days in office. Since then mass shootings have increased 3 fold. And in 2017 Trump also repealed Obama-era gun checks for people with mental health issues. Who wanted both these repealed?? NRA? What bullshit, surveys constantly show the majority in favor of sensible gun laws such as mental health checks.

I love these guys, all 4 of them. They have a always been class acts handling these real and tragic events with such grace and class. My deepest deepest condolences to families that lost someone, be a child or one of the two teachers slain. This hit home as I just moved to TX from VA two years ago and I have children 6, 7 and 14 years old and my wife is a teacher.

@Sherwood Gresham Jr. As a parent and former secondary educator myself the public schools have changed within the last fifteen years. Back in the 70's and 80's when I attended school we just had basic fire drills. Now, students have lockdown and mock drills in case of a potential shooting incident. Class room doors are required to be locked from the inside at all times. As parents and grandparents, we need to be aware and be vigilant. As a community, we need to be proactive and engage with other like minded people to provide a safe environment and best resources for our youth.

I'm a highschool student in uvalde and this event was devastating my prayers go out to all the families impacted 🙏🙏

Being a parent it definitely is on my mind a lot I went to the school that was right outside the projects and we never had anything like this. Because of social media it seems like our children have been hit with mental health issues early on as a parent trying to talk to my kid as someone that has had depression suffering from ADHD all my life I try to tell my kids it's okay to talk about these things and they're even like put off by talking about it. Mental health and needing to talk to somebody isn't something to be ashamed of. And if anybody's out there that does read this and you are having a tough time don't give up you do matter

@@rdmcabee First of all, what is an assault weapon? It's unfortunate that many politicians use this sad opportunity to further their careers. What do all the shooters have in common, and why isn't anyone interested in addressing those commonalities. Kids are becoming more violent. Teachers often talk about how they are punched and kicked. Our juvenile systems have become a dumping ground for troubled children. According to the parent resource program from the Jason Foundation, suicide is the second leading cause of death for people for youths aged 10-24. In both buffalo and Uvalde, both shooters would have passed their background test because they had no priors. Perhaps it's time for us to start having this discussion instead of blaming other people.

Demonic is an excuse for societal failure. A kid bullied for poverty, withdraws from life, manifests hurt into hate and a stupid country that permits military grade weapons to be allowed on their streets. Sorry, not demonic, it is a societal failure. Demonic implies it is out of our control.

I don’t have kids yet but I don’t even want to imagine. I wish I had the words to comfort the families and that entire community. I’m so sorry this happened and keeps happening.

It’s time to put the pressure where the pressure belongs there has to be some tuff laws in place for those that do things of this caliber of madness we can’t continue to sit back and allow this to continue over and over. My heart goes to all the families effected by this senseless tragedy I pray you all the strength to endure.

Guns only should given to those who are capable of handling one. For example, in Austria only law enforcement have them. And even those are very rarely used. Background checks will not help

Treat schools like a bank. Make it difficult to get beyond the lobby with lock down/ emergency buttons at every front office desk. It's time to establish school safety requirements and provide funding for that purpose.

Just did a career day at a local elementary school here in Atlanta. Such wonderful, amazing, loving 3rd and 4th grade little humans being taught and cared for by the most amazing teachers! Just the thoughts of what were the final moments for those kids in Texas, is more than my heart and mind can bear. For their families and for the survivors, may God have mercy on you all.

Idk about the whole "amazing teachers" part. Right now there's a serious issue with the teacher in America who are trying to indoctrinate the kids not to mention sexualize and confuse them starting at an early age. There is a marxist agenda at play here mke no mistake, and we must have our eyes wide open or else we will be living in a world none of us can imagine 20 years from now.

This shooting made me cry. Memorial Day came early this year.

There is a reason why these four guys are loved. It transcends sports.

My sister has lived in Uvalde for over 30 years. Peaceful agricultural and ranching community...I talked to her today expressing my disbelief. No city, town or community is immune. Such a waste...that poor town, those poor students those sad parents...poor us. Thank you for your comments.

They knew the Buffalo shooter was a ticking time bomb.. yes we need background checks 100% agree. Everyone wants less dead kids, and less guns in the hands of crazy people. What people need to realize more than anything is that our police budget needs to INCREASE not decrease. I saw the ambulance 🚁 flying fast back and forth from the town back to San Antonio at the University hospital dropping off people. It was the last time I saw my friend before he passed away. Three months later.
