He's not a star or anything but he's a big contributor off the bench and can spread the floor hitting the 3 @ 6'10. He's also a very good defender; but he needs to be more careful how to attacks the basket.. Dirk likes to make fun of himself because he is so humble. He wouldn't have been bad defensively in if he had played in today's NBA. He was only bad when he got old. Years 3-14 he was a decent defender

Dirk can hold his own in the post. He's a good post-defender because of his length and anticipation. He's slow laterally, though which might be a problem in a "switch-heavy" scheme today. When Dirk's involved in a P n' R action, he doesn't drop. He usually shows and then recovers back to his original assignment. What's good about him though, is that he's quick to recover to his man.

@@Physics_Dude I agree by actual basketball skill but there’s no chip yet. Nostalgia factor is at play. I was in high school in 2011 and had great time in the city when Dallas won. Dirk was our lightowers in the dark for some teenage hoopers who hated LeBron. Dirty Dirk always no. 1

Thanks for the OKC respect! Not much of it going around by Mavs fans who must have missed OKC playing the entire season. Hopefully gonna be a great series, could see it going either way but Mavs should probably be slight favorites cuz of the end of the season and the 35pt blowout they gave OKC during the season (even if suns wolves proved the regular season means nothing 😂). No Kleber hurts though!

Dirk changed the game. There would be no Steph without him. No one ever saw a 5 shoot a 3 until I saw him take a drop pass from the point. Usually that’s a drive dunk. Dirk was the OG. Love the dude.
