North Korea - it’s a country that’s been making a lot of news lately. Unfortunately, most of it has been rather negative. After all, turn on a television or search through the online news and you’re bound to come across at least a few dark stories concerning this so-called Hermit Kingdom. From dictators to missile launches to stories of famine, from the outside things look pretty bleak in this small Asian country. Indeed, apart from stories about the military and impoverished population, there doesn’t seem to be much else going on in North Korea. Unless, of course, you make your way to the country’s capital of Pyongyang. There you’ll run into a small but noticeable group of Millennials who wouldn’t be that out of place in the hotspots of L.A., New York and London. Yes, these are the one percenters of North Korea and they live a lifestyle that is so different from every other North Korean it’s hard to believe they actually exist.

There are no salaries in North Korea, the state hands out ´living expenses´. $10/month was about 15-20yrs ago. Even outside of Pyongyang these days, citizens receive $100 basic ($200 nuclear family). Claiming a bowl of noodles cost $7 in Pyongyang is at a top restaurant. Prices in Pyongyang are on a par with South Korea

Only retards would be confused, it's obvious many of those photos aren't from NK since they don't allow much of that and even travelers are followed by special personal who guides them and restricts their visit, and they made it clear that hair styles are very restricted including dyeing their hair why would anyone believe that BTS was from NK? And for the sake of stupidity, she was talking about music and K-pop when she showed the BTS picture, don't you fucking pay attention to anything she was saying? the level of American stupidity in the comment's section is just sickening, i'm out here.

TheTalko, Thank You for making videos of North Korea! I see from the comments sections that you have some detractors, but I would not let that bother you too much. The quality of information of your videos is very high, and you have provided information on North Korea that no other KZread channel offers. Moreover, if you peruse through all of the videos that have been made by TheTalko, you will quickly see that there have been a large number that have been made, so the percentage of the videos that have been made about North Korea is quite small. Perhaps some people's feelings have been hurt from your excoriating Kim Jong-un and North Korea in general. Please keep on making these great videos!

And the average these days is about $200/family even outside of Pyongyang. As for eating out in Pyongyang, a bowl of noodles is $2-$3. The prices she mentions and income are fabrication ($10/month) is the income claimed by poor NK farmer defectors from the northern provinces in the early 2000s
