Reminds me of 6 Engine in Newark, NJ. The entire 4th Battalion was fast, but 6 was the busiest. Stay safe FDNY.

John Banahan Remember Freddie Boranger? Rick Nolson? Al and John Macchiaverna? Ricca, Ianuzzi and Shimpf to name a few? My Father was an 18 Engine Captain 1962-1969. He made Captain in 1959 in 12 Engine. Retired in 1986, with 39 years on the job. Buddy of mine was in 6 Engine, so I rode with them a lot while waiting to get on the job. Never made it on though.

Would love to see a FDNY fire-fighter abroad at some of the super large stations with more than 40 or 50 apparatus in Germany, which still run less calls than a single FDNY apparatus does ^^

My Father wanted me to be a FDNY Fireman after 911 I was set to take the test but backed out last minute as I felt it was more his dream then mine plus I was young 22 and felt a career where i could die was not for me. I’m not coward but I just felt i was destined for something else. Kudos to those who do the job.

FDNY has this down to a science. I see other fire depts response vids on YT. Some of their tactics are suspect. While I don't question their commitment, I do question their tactics. FDNY just has good aggressive fire tactics, PERIOD. Milwaukee, San fran and others employ good aggressive tactics. Because in the end, as a fire dept, that's all you have. Your tactics. You have to be aggressive and smart. it's what the taxpaying citizens are paying for.

25mfd every department you stated that does it “right” are all large paid departments. I can almost guarantee the vast majority of department videos you’re speaking down on volunteer department with limited funding. In the fire service we joke about everyone wants to be the FDNY and complete wackers are the ones who love to jolly the FDNYs funny bits every chance they get. the FDNY is a tried and true department but in this one video i saw multiple NIOSH NFPA violations. First that come to mind is i see two guys walking into and later walking out of the first floor with the living room fully involved with no face piece on, one guy on the bucket continues to try to grab in the window with no gloves and i see multiple people with out fire gloves. This is the exact tunnel vision of wackers we in the fire service preach against because its those who lick the ground the FDNY walks on that end up messing up once they get on the fire ground or can barely get through a 2 minutes drill.

Wrong is wrong. Every person should be properly packaged. Won't argue with you on that point. I was mainly speaking about fire ground tactics.
