Inside the Crisis in Congo with Distel Zola | George Stroumboulopoulos

You most certainly do not need me to tell you how complex and challenging life in the modern world can be. And I'm not just talking about our personal battles and struggles. The moment we step outside, the moment we tune into the global narrative, it can all feel overwhelmingly daunting.
Today, on this International Day of Living Together in Peace, our focus turns to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where over 23 million people are facing crisis levels of hunger.
I'm joined by Distel Zola, a High-Level Supporter of the World Food Programme who comes to us with insights from his time on mission with the ‪@WorldFoodProgramme‬ in the heart of the crisis.
Distel has witnessed firsthand the devastating impacts of the Congo's escalating crisis, where recent violence and record-setting flooding have displaced thousands, shattered families, and pushed the limits of survival. Today, we delve into the realities faced on the ground, discuss the indispensable role of humanitarian aid, and assess the impact of global support.

A dozen years ago, at least, I was moved by the Incident with Sum 41 in the DRC. I fundraised and fought hard to help. I guess I just exhausted myself of the situation.
