Inside The Chinese Telecom Giant That Trump Banned (HBO)

Huawei tried to save its image over a weeklong press junket.
“We wanted to invite U.S. media to come ask any questions on behalf of American customers,” said Catherine Chen, Huawei’s corporate senior vice president and director of the board.
VICE News took Huawei up on its offer and found out we were the only news organization that showed up.

[FALSE INFORMATION] Vice is NOT the only one who went to Huawei campus after the invitation was sent. Kevin Frayer, a photographer from Getty Images also went there, which is reported by CNN earlier today. Maybe VICE's reporter was the first one, but they are NOT the only one. This video is a joke. 1. The questions all come from a biased standpoint, and the editor even went great lengths to put in those techno music with a strong suspicious vibe. You guys started off PLANNING to make this piece in a certain way, that's why you wasted such a good opportunity; 2. Also, as a video editor myself, when I see the excessive use of third-party footage in a video (like this one), I can't help but think that the crew wasn't able to get enough usable footage themselves, but wanted badly to catch the trending topic, so they just had to "borrow" it from other sources; 3. Even the GettyImage photographer was able to talk to multiple Huawei employees and get their opinions regarding the current situation. VICE, which is known for its excellent/independent perspectives and being able to "dig deep" ... I wanted to apply for a position there. I'm re-thinking now. If your journalist is explicitly stopped from asking certain questions, talking to certain people or going to certain places, REPORT IT! The journalist is such an amateur. Go back to school, kid.

Short answer: Yes Huawei is working with the Chinese government. Another short answer: EVERY other tech company in the world works with their home country's government but I guess the real problem is that Huawei's collected data isn't accessible to the NSA and that annoys the US a lot.

Correct. And this is why China is likely to be the only global superpower very soon. The entire country is being kept in lock-step toward domination. Western capitalist countries are like herds of cats, each facet of the economy pulling in a different direction, more often in counter-productive directions. Huawei has state backing to dominate Chinese electronics and communication. In a western capitalist economy that would mean a multi-trillion-dollar valuation and a multi-billionaire founder/owner. But in China Huawei either prices itself to close to non-profit, or if there are profits they're plowed into the state's general revenues. By Chinese standards Huawei directors are fabulously wealthy but not run-away wealthy as they'd be if their situation existed in the US.

Look for 'Altered Carbon' by Richard Morgan...we are already starting to learn how to replace parts of our own organic matter. We grow meat in labs now, and 1/2 the service providers you call now are automated systems and it's only growing. A self playing piano freaks you out? In less than 5 years a large amount of Amazon and Walmart distribution chains will involve automated deliveries (aka: self-driving trucks). Automation is EVERYWHERE and sophisticated robotic technologies are making new inroads everyday. Check out Darpa robotics for modern terminators and bullets that can change directions mid flight. Now that China can kick America's ass America whines "not fair". The US had every opportunity to reinvest into education and infastructure. The big difference is that American companies are not forced to work and share data with the Government like China. Your missing the whole point of this and making excuses, In China every company is mandated by law to give and enforce any and all request by the Government. In America the FBI asked apple to unlock a terrorist phone but they said "hell no" so the FBI hired a team of hackers to do it for them. In China the companies have no choice, No is not an answer but a death wish. Nothing in this video talks or denies the fact about the US government hacking into anything. Stop making excuses for the Communist government you idiot The founder of Huawei was a Chinese Military officer and current member of the communist party....
